Upgrade Help

hey guys,

gonna upgrade my system soon and wondering on which way to go....

I have an i3 3240 with an HD7770 card and its a nice setup gives me good fps on the games i play but i want to stick an i5 in there and will upgrade the psu and i am leaning towards Nvidea cards but my mobo doesnt support sli, just crossfire, i have considered the R9 270 but it doesnt blow my HD 7770 away in benchmarks and reviews etc so any ideas would be most welcomed.

My budget for the card will be around £125-£150, but im wondering if it would be better spent on a better mobo first ?

You could get another 7770 and crossfire it. Alternatively sell your 7770 and get something like a 670/760/280x.

This is probably the best way to get the best GPU you can afford.

Though the 270x is quite a bit faster than a 7770 so i don't see how you came up with the conclusion that it was not?

yeah there is a good improvement but just want this card to be best bang for buck....

My only worry would be your psu might not be enough to power it. I normally slightly over estimate power draw though.

I would want to upgrade your PSU along with the GPU. Pretty low end psu that will be almost maxed out 24/7 if you xfire or upgrade to the 270x.

i mentioned in my first post i will be upgrading the psu aswell as the cpu i know the cx430m wont cope with a bigger card or crossfire lol....

i was looking more towards the 760 as a good jump from what i have metro light is killing my card on high settings lol just keeping above 40fps, and i love this game :lol:
