Uniform Server Alternative

I just discovered the joys of Uniform server, a program that runs PHP, mysql and stuff basically from a removable USB key.

The latest version thats been out is majorly flakey and even the author in the forums is suggesting to wait. Has anyone got some suggestions on something like that.

I did try it with my mac but couldn't get any information on how to setup Apache :-(
