Hey guys im currently in the process of undervolting my 4670k so far I have got it down from 1.183 to 1.108 and my question is when it can't go any further what signs do I look for like does is just bluescreen or does occt give a fails message

Basically how do I know when to stop

Thanks in advanced :)

If you go down slow enough you'll first notice that it's too low to be stable when it starts to blue screen during stress tests, so increase it slightly again until it is stable in stress tests.

If you go down in larger steps, it could blue screen before you're even able to get into Windows, so then you're quite a bit too low, and just increase it till you find you're stable in stress tests.

Thanks for reply James I have yet to have a failure in occt yet. I've downed it to 1.083 now and am currently running the test also all test I have ran for 30 minuites each

I take it your following the guide on here?

When you do get down to the lowest value, you need to make sure that you test it for significantly longer than 30 minutes to ensure stability.

I'd normally leave something like OCCT on for at least 12 hours when you get round to it.

You been recording temperatures by the way? And how much they've dropped/are dropping by?

My highest temp at 1.183 volts was 61℃ and at 1.108 my highest was 54℃ and yep I am following the guide on here :) I will also be sure to leave it on for a long period of time one I've hit the limit thanks for all your replies

Ok just about to finish the 1.033 test the highest temp so far on this test is 49℃

Pretty good drop then.

I managed to get around 30 degrees off my 3960X by undervolting it.

Definitely a worthwhile thing to do to get temperatures down.
