To add or not to add?

Lo lads

Well as most of you know my new rig is currently running 1 x Swiftech MCP600 pump, but I bought two originally. What I'm wanting to know is:

*If I add the second one to the loop, will my current setup receive any additional cooling performance through higher flow rate? Or will the second pump simply add redundancy in the event of a pump failure? (which is why I originally bought 2 in the first place)

*Should I sell the second pump, or whack it in?

TIA

PV :)

It really depends on if your blocks like the higher flow rate. MOST blocks do, some do not. I would be inclinded to say yes put it in.

i wouldnt bother, it will probably increase the heat dump and the money from selling it could be spend on something that would give a performance boost like a better rad or fans

Swiftech Storm G4 impingement block, I think it should benefit from the additional flow, yeah?

My Rad is a triple, dual pass which keeps my 7900GT @ 31 deg oc'd and my e6600 @ 34 - 36 deg oc'd. I'm quite happy with those temps though ;)

Thank you for your input so far lads:worship:

in that case keep it just incase

Oh dude, triple rad + storm + gpu = put in the second pump NOW :)

What he said. . .Storm's thrive on higher head pressure and flow. You'll catch about .5 gpm more flow, but the increased head will allow the Storm to do it's job better. My highly oc'ed FX-60 idles @ 23-24C and gets to about 33-34c loaded (dual prime 95 or Orthos for hours).

Frag, most blocks like the increased head (pressure), flow deosn't affect them as much.
