So it is essentially cod with mechs, bots, and a self aiming pistol? Sounds boring.

the movement is interesting. it's like cod with brink's movement and then the garbage. it also has cloaking.
so pretty much cod + brink + hawken + crysis + moba = titanfall

I'm actually really enjoying the brief time I've spent on Titanfall at the moment. It's easy enough to get Beta keys, as has been proved in this thread already, so I encourage everyone to check it out. It's fast paced and chaotic but it's fun.

Obviously people are going to compare it to CoD, but I think it stands on it's own merits.

It's very fast paced. More so than CoD. Similar time to kill with the guns, (except that stupid auto-aiming gun.. that'll be disabled on competitive ladders for sure). The movement is very fun, intuitive and easy to get to grips with. Also, Titan-killing weapons seem awfully weak against players. I mean, I know they are meant for Titans, but if I shoot people with mini-rockets, I expect them to explode into tiny little bloody giblets.

Graphics are pretty. There's a slightly annoying lens flare effect, but other than that, pyrotechnics look good, animations are smooth, and there's plenty of customisability (although I only tried maxed out with slightly lower AA settings).

Titans are pretty fun. They aren't are all that difficult to kill, but they are immense fun to control and if you use them well, they are extremely powerful.

Maps are meh. Square, long bits, open bits, building bits, nothing to write home about. Can't complain either, though.

Spawns seem okay. Not had any problems with spawning just to die instantly.

Grunts (AI) are a bit.. weird. They are super easy to kill, but they draw your attention and you can sometimes not tell if you are aiming at a player or an AI, which will get you killed. There's a fair bit of camping already too, which is weird considering the awesome movement, but it's not too hard to counter.

Connection seems relatively stable. Couple of server issues, occasionally takes a while to find a map, sometimes you may DC from a lobby, but still, stable enough for prolonged gaming.

Games end with an "epilogue" where the losing team has to try escape to a drop zone for some extra points. Means a little bit more killing time, and makes things a little interesting I guess. Nice feature, but I hope there's a playlist that comes with it disabled, for the sake of choice.

Overall, better than Call of Duty. Needs a little refining and I'm looking forward to seeing more of the customisations open up. 7.5/10 so far.

dont forgot the 'mirrors edge' added to that, the running up walls and stuff

Everyone was moaning that 6v6 is gonna be shit! But anything more would have been too much, having anymore than 6 or 7 Titans in one game is insane, the amount of fire power thats going around! 6v6 might not have been a bad idea at all
