so most of you know im in the process of planing my new rig and i thought id give you a bit of a giggle at what my old rig looked like.

(at the time i had rather alot of pride in it now i just laugh its about 2/3years old now)

mmmmm look at that sexy cable management .... tho have to say the painted grills look so much better than the stock black.

whent to a lan with the case when i had finished and it sat next to a stock antec 900 and just made it look cheap :)

hahah i air brushed it allll!! and had like 120 mill bottle of the paint it looks crapola in picture but in rl it actully looks a pretty cool effect

oh man i done a paint job on a case a while ago it was one colour but 2 much paint on it nothing fit again :| but i think u went completely the different end ha ha

BLOBBY BLOBBY BLOBBY ! :D

Not sure if it's lack of paint or spraying from different distances.

Actually looking again looks like lack of paint. Painting a case properly, even with rattle cans is very expensive. You need to paint on thick enough layers to cut back with P800 between coats. And then of course enough laquer to be able to cut, wet sand and buff the crap out of for a mirror shine.

Good finishes with rattle cans are very possible providing you know what you're doing and use enough paint and put the time and effort in (IE lots). when I painted the Radiomactive I ended up using 5 500ml cans of yellow, 3 500ml cans of pink, 5 cans of primer and 4 cans of laquer.

IIRC I spent about $70 on paint alone.

Bit of both Alien but if he kept layering it would have matched.

We all know Im a snob when it comes to paint finishes!

yeh this was my 2nd attempt at spraying again with a air brush not cans also done in a very small bed room at the time :P

lesson learnt tho much more paint needed many many more thin coats needed for a good finish if i end up painting my new rig hopefully ill be able to find a suplyer for some house of color paints.

i wish i had copys of my hp project case i did for friend where it was air brushed again with like a metalic and silver main body with a pearl orange and looked imaculate.

House of Kolor....

If you use HOK you have to use HOK for everything start to finish to get a decent finish... I swear by it and any specialist stuff I do is all HOK.

You and me both brother, you and me both :D

The hardest tactic to take on from the HOK book I had was "spray on paint just to the point of running"

WTF? haha, time it's running it's too effing late :D

Seriously, GOOD painting is a bloody art form. That's why the fail safe is spraying on bloody loads and then wiping out all your mistakes :D

of course its art........

Totally. DO NOT MIX BRANDS OR RUN CHEAP PRIMER. A friend of mine decided it would be a good idea to paint on crapola paint and then HOK clear for its lustre. HOK is a world record holder for the clearness of its clearcoats. However, my mate didn't realise that the chemical makeups of the paint was different.. WATCHOUT.

Spider man, Spider man, leaves webs all over your car.

The granny killer. I adopted her after a four year stint in a field. The roof was orange with rust as the sun had cracked up the paint and the water and gotten underneath. In the end the metal was fine but covered in pock marks and tiny pits. So I had to metal glaze the entire roof. Metalglaze is basically watery filler that levels itself. Awesome stuff. Here she is sat ready.

That was two coats in. In the end it had five. Bastard was I needed it as a daily driver. I must have masked that f***ing car about twenty times in the end lol.

Cillit Bang, and the dirt is gooooooone.

Check the license plate shrouds... Kameleon :D

Sadly right as I was about to deck her out with new shoes, these to be exact (Foose Spank 5) the driveshaft snapped and took out the wheelbearings and damaged the rods. It was then November and snowing so I had to sell her on :(

I knew that rechip would be too much :D

yeh funny you say about doing things right .... ill show you a little mess about i had with the old case i had pre antec 900

sadly tho....... i hadnt even bothered with a primer or doing enough coats and i dont think id really done much clear coating ontop.

so several months later

sun and just moving it cause some horrid chiping lol

oh and yes for some reason i masked over a label on the bottom right think it was the windows key or something and wouldnt come off thats how pro i was 2 years ago :)

Now that's more like it man. You can come round with that airbrush and do my Alienware if you like :D

I bloody love skulls !

:) if i did it again it would be so much better hahaha may actully put a primer down and may actully use a decent paint rather than some cheap multi pack paints off ebay. spend more than a couple hours on clear coating and buffing....

Dude whatever you do don't use an airbrush to try and put on clearcoat and primers etc. For that you need a proper gravity feed gun. Airbrushes are awesome for finer details but useless for decent coats of paint. That's why you're getting those patches.

well unless i get a profeshional to do it i have to make do with what i got iv had some success with clear coatin off the air brush but its much easyer out of a can :) just annoyed i dont have the xbox paint i did any more stupid hdd failures
