Thermaltake PSUs

I was wondering if any of you know anything about the new Thermaltake Toughpower XT PSUs. Now before you guys crack my head open for suggesting the Thermaltake/Thermaltacky might make a decent PSU, these new XT ones have a lifetime warranty, not even the Corsair AX PSUs have a warranty that long. So with the lifetime warranty do you guys think these new models are reliable and won't explode taking everything in your computer with it or is it another tacky theme for luring unknowing users?

Unless something radically changes I can't see myself buying anything other than Corsair, Enermax or Seasonic. (& picopsu for sff)

I use Thermaltakes cheap PSU's in a lot of cheap builds, They seem the best value for money and when I ran my PC shop I never had one come back.

I used to have expensive ones come back all the time (when I was busy I used to order pre built PC's from my wholesalers and for some reason they used Thermaltake PSU's unless I request other wise).

So I would use their OEM cheap PSU's but not their high end ones.

Last time I had a Thermaltake PSU was back in 2004 some time. I had nothing but trouble with it. I thought it was overheating at first, but the temps were fine. I replaced all fans etc just to make sure. Turns out it was my PSU. I got it replaced as it was in warranty with store. After like a month the other one broke etc... just kept breaking. Was powering my 4400+x2, 7800GT 2GB ram, Fatality mobo etc... was top end stuff back then, and fit by IT technicians, so I guess it wasn't a problem with the fitting. Just got another PSU (generic) and it worked fine for the rest of the years. So PSU it was.

I wouldn't buy one again.
