The Turners play room

Hi all now i am here away from the dreaded Facebook i will share my rig with you.
As you can see we are a house of gamers so i have been trying to keep our PCs to a spec that will enable us to play the latest games which has meant some cut backs and bargain grabbing but it is doable and surprising what you can get for your money.
you can also probably guess i am a simracer so the triple screens have become a necessity which then meant the wife had to aswell to keep up with me once she saw BF3 and later BF4 running across them.
I was until recently running an msi p67a-gd55 b3 with an i5 2500k which i had running rather nicely @ 4.2Ghz.
I have just picked up from my friend his old CPU: Intel i7-2600K & Asustek Maximus IV Extreme which i have yet to tinker with and will report my results here upon doing so.
So to the specs and photos.

Rig specifications:
Intel i7 2600k
Asustek Maximus IV Extreme
16gb Corsair 1600Mhz DDR3
OCZ ZS750W PSU
Gigabyte 660 Windforce 2gb
120gb OCZ Vertex3
2TB WD 5400
Antec Twelve Hundred Case
Corsair H80 CPU Cooler.

Hopefully my new upgrade will be in soon and then i can think about tweaking it all.

Thanks for looking :)

Dude....... I know antec cases aren't the best for cable management, but surely you can tidy them up a bit. Nice setup overall though :)

Cable tidies at the ready and will be going in very shortly been playing around with drive configs and stuff so not sure its final just yet, but i hear ya :)

I expect you'll see some hateful comments RE dust and cable management. Man I haven't seen the 1200 in aaages ^_^

Good man for getting it sorted. I've heard there's sweet fa cable room in those cases but If you get creative you can sort it :)

really are going to need a before and after lol

TBH mate you need more than cable tidies. You need to rip it all out then put it back together with tidy in mind

those molex to fan connectors at the top for example need changing/binning

Been draggin it along for a few years, dust is a nightmare in this place but i will clean it all up special for you guys, as for the cable management you should see how much is running up the back of the mobo and tucked under the drive bays but i did have to remove all my cable ties the other day, i will tart it back up soon and replace the grotty photos as soon as i can.

Had the Antec 1200 back when the Core 2 Duo E6600 was still new'ish, I actually managed a fairly epic cable tidy, Looked clean as hell :)

Little up date, new Blue cables ordered and blue cable wrap, will see if it goes with the red on the Mobo if not it will be a strip out of all things blue and replaced with either white or red well will see, you buggers have got me thinking about new cases now too. :)

The Antec 1200 is a brilliant case, You just have to plan out the cable routing carefully, Honestly My Antec 1200 was pristine, I modded the side panel so it was nearly a full window, Looked awesome, This is what mine looked like but mine had an actual glass panel instead of plexi/acrylic for that extra clean finish :)

700

I only sold it as I was moving country and at the time it would of cost a stupid amount of money to ship it over and there was no guarantee it would of made it there in 1 piece.

If I didn't move country I would still have it today :)

Pretty heavy duty setup there!

I really wouldn't say it was brilliant. It's so big yet somehow there's barely any room inside. Bad use of space IMO.

If you plan it out properly though you can use the space very well, When I had mine it looked very empty, Sounds odd I know but it looked very spacious and I had an 800w modular PSU, Asus P5Q Deluxe, E6600, 8GB OCZ Reaper-X *4x4GB*, 2 x ATI 4850's, X-FI Xtremegamer fatal1ty Pro, Physx AGEIA Card, DVD-RW and a WD Raptor X *windowed edition* HDD and it looked very tidy and the temps were awesome for the time.

I'm using one now and yeah it is very empty, but the space is in the wrong place. Look how much space there is above the motherboard - but there is no native support for standard rads.

love the kitchen worktop desk.. best idea since sliced bread that :) that's how i made my extra long desk :) el custom!

we need it with our 2 setups and the 900mm depth is fantastic.

Dicehunter i hate you, i have no excuses for why my case looks poo now :) but the mission is on to tidy her up and see what i can do :D

Y u do dis? :(
Pristine job on the cable management though, looks ace :D

Jon, I quite like your setup, though your rig does, indeed, need some intensive cleaning ;)

No no no, This is not mine, This is an example :)

I was only showing the window mod that I also had on my Antec 1200 but with real glass not acrylic or plexi but my rig looked quite a lot like this but without the ram cooler and was even a bit more tidy than this.

Just a little update, i love the 280x Matrix so much i hunted down a second one. Crossfired and the top card got a tad warm running up to 84C in BF4 so i have just stuck 2 Kraken G10's with Corsair H90 and can happily report now hitting max temp of 45C using the same settings.
I would love to show you my rig but its still in the antec 1200 well most of it except 2 big arse 140mm rads i have mounted on an external rack.
Next step, later in the year custom loop for CPU and GPU's all inside a lovely sparkly new case which will be decided nearer the time.
Thanks again to OC3D for giving me the kickstart on this road to watercooling oblivion.

Mind posting a pic? I'm quite interested in seeing 2 kraken G10s being used in the same rig. I've never seen that before.
