The Official Intel Overclock Thread

Hi there guys, thought I'd do a little post in here though I am sure I have before.. nevermind!

Intel Pentium Dual Core E2140 1.6GHz @3.44GHz - 1.5375v

GeIL Black Dragon PC2-6400 2x1GB @860MHz stock volts @4-4-4-12 timings

MSI P35 Neo2-FR v1.9 BIOS (the latest one)

PaLiT 9600GT 512MB @ 755MHz Core/975MHz (1960 effective) Memory/2000 Shader

I managed to get a 11604 3DMark06 score, which isn't too bad from this set up I think any ways :)

I have not managed to get my CPU to go any higher, it simply refuses to boot at 3.48GHz even at 1.6v so I gave up for that time. I might try again once I have lapped it.

Just done another benchmark.. I managed to get a test done at 3.48GHz..

I am still having trouble getting it to post at 450MHz FSB (3.52GHz) even at 1.65v.. it just won't boot at all so I am giving up.. I can't keep upping it.. the CPU is going to kiss out soon if I do :P

Here are the results:

I had my graphics card overclocked to the following:

770MHz Core / 2000 Shader / 985MHz (1970MHz Effective)

I am not willing to push it any further as if I do, the graphics just artifacts pretty much instantly.

Thank you guys for looking :)

Current best.

E8400

4320MHz

1.392v

Scythe Ninja Copper

DFI LanParty DK P35-T2RS

2x 2GB Corsair XMS2 PC-6400

Very nice, in about a year or so's time my friend might let me test my computer with his E8400 in my rig.. will do my best to get around 4.2 - 4.4GHz :) and compare it to my system and see how much of an improvement it is.

Also, he is going to be upgrading to a Quad so I might take his E8400 off of him for say £50 and my old E2140 for his computer now which he is going to be giving to his parents.. sounds like a good deal to me! :)

I'd reccomend it all day long.

Perfect CPU, benchmarks just love it! You know what they say, good things come in small packages ;)

That is what I said to the girl I had a go with.. Haha jokes bud don't worry :)

Any ways.. yeah it really does, I can't wait to lap my current CPU to get better temperatures out of it, I am going to order the kit from KustomPCs tomorrow and should be with my on tuesday.. damn all this coursework I got to do at the moment (year 11, GCSE year.. got to focus on school rather than my computer!)

I am going to move on to a Quad though, don't want to go on a Dual :) Especially when I can get a 3.6 - 3.8GHz Quad core..

Ditto man!

Certainly not looking forward to the GCSE's... All that revising. :(

I know, and I haven't exactly picked one of the easiest subjects either! Statistics.. in the beginning it was easy.. now it is ****ing hard! I can't remember any of the formula used ROFL

Any ways, I think I got a good OC on my CPU so I am proud :)
