Hi there OC3D!
Well, this is my 1000th post! I though it needed to be something special. I thought: I might as well post a rig gallery of my current rig, and even tell a bit about my life.

My specs are following:
CPU: AMD Sempron 2400+ OC'd @ 1.83GHz
GPU: ASUS GeForce FX5200 Passive Cooled
Motherboard: GIGABYTE 7VT600-RZ
RAM: 1GB of Brandless 166,9MHz DDR(1) RAM
PSU: Codegen 400w
Case: Unknown :(
HDDs: 2x Maxtor Diamondmax 40GB and an external Western Digital 320GB HDD.
Optical Drives: one LG CD-Rewriter and a NEC DVD-Burner/reader.

My peripherals:
Monitor: LG Flatron W1942S (keeps failing on me)
Keyboard: Logitech Media Keyboard
Mouse: Logitech MouseMan Optical Dual Sensor
Headset: 4Gamers CP-Pro
Speakers: Trust Cubo 2.1 Speaker Set
Printer: HP Deskjet F2480

Before I post the pics, I'll tell a bit about my life.
At the moment, I'm 16 years old. I'm doing the 3rd class in HAVO in the Netherlands and I want to become a hardware/gaming journalist. I really enjoy writing things like reviews.
As a kid, I've always been very shy. At my old school, before I moved places, I got bullied a lot. They would always wait for me after school and just run after me, or they would make fun of my length, or my clothes, or my shyness. It was a dark period in my life which still makes me sad.

When I moved places, things went a lot better. I made friends, would start getting a little less shy and after school I would go home happy. Some people did still make fun of me, but at least I wasn't alone.

A few years ago, we found out my mother is rheumatic. It really had (and still has) an impact on me. Seeing your mother is having pain with almost every movement she makes will make you feel bad.

Last year, I lost both my grandma's, and the last one passed away on my birthday. It was supposed to be a great day, as I was turning 16, but I couldn't be happy that day...

Now about my rig, I've had it for 9 years now. I know I'm really due to an upgrade, but as a teenager, money doesn't grow on my back. I do hope to upgrade asap, but I hardly get to work at the place I work (4 hours a week), so I don't get a lot of money in.
I was supposed to get a new laptop a few years ago, with a Core2Duo. But when we were going to buy one, the car broke. Turned out my dad had got the wrong fuel. He wasn't paying attention because there was a fight across the street. We never got to get me a new notebook after that. I really felt like the world hated me a bit at that moment.
Although my rig might be old, I'm not unhappy with it. I still remember the first time I booted it up. It was my 7th birthday, and when I got downstairs, there was a new PC, just for me. I was stoked! I immediately thanked my parents and installed rayman 3 on it. A game I got with it.
9 years later, it's absolutely outdated. But I'm still happy with it. It also keeps me from getting spoiled :D
As you can read, my life hasn't been easy in the past years. But it's always time to move on, and look at the future. And I hope it's going to be bright.

Well, I guess you guys want to see pics eh? Here they come!

NOTE: The cable mangement is really bad, but the case only has two grommets and it's extremely hard to tidy up.

win7 runs on that? how? win7 alone takes up 1 GB RAM.
also when are we getting your rig a makeover?
Pretty sure 1GB is with all the extra applications included :)
I have 3 Dimms in my rig:
1 512MB and 2 256MB :p
And also, asap.
I was hoping coming summer, but I don't earn as much money as before.
Maybe September or if I'm very unlucky: Chrismas 2013

I'm more intrigued by the fact that it appears Aero is running on a 5200.
Took me 2 weeks to get that working :D
Though Aero only needs pixel shaders and 128mb RAM. And Aero works on Vista with a FX5200, so in the end I just installed the Vista drivers and it worked :D

That's good story mate :) I'm 16 too (well 17 in about a week). Things have always been tight for cash in my household, but I have a PC I spent almost 2 years saving for with my Saturday job and managed to get a computer I can be proud of. If you keep working hard and become a journalist then you will be able to get the most amazing computer ever :)

Your words inspire confidence in me! :)

im from the netherlands aswell ;) I sorta know your situation, my life wasn't the easiest either from age 12 to 15-16, all I can tell you is life will get better. Most likely when you go to college/university (hoge school of universiteit, weet nooit precies hoe ik hoge school moet vertalen) cause there you will meet alot of people who have the same interests as you do. I'm 20 now and I might still not be that popular but atleast i've got alot of friends now to hang out with.

As for the money part, well at your age I started building websites from scratch with a friend (me as graphic design etc, him doing the coding) that pretty much made us like 3-400 euro's per person a month. However these days it's not really worth it anymore for us, since we're both studying and building websites just takes too much time.

But maybe you should try to find another job? Maybe even working in a supermarket? I know it's boring but it pays a decent amount of money and you should be able to get more hours there.

I can't quit my job untill my contract ends, but I might have a look around!
I've thought about designing websites, but then I remembered I can't code :p

ah that sux, but how come you have a contract for a certain amount of time? Because most part time jobs i've had were 0 hours contracts meaning they can fire me whenever they want, but I could also leave whenever i wanted.

Well, i can code a bit but i was lucky enough to have a mate who could already code websites. And you can learn alot from youtubing around ;) It al depends on how much interest you have in it. Most people find coding really really boring tho, like me ;)

Im currently busy working on a watercooled FD arc mini casemod, which will be posted here aswell. It's not like my pc is the most amazing ever (phenom 1090T 8gb ram 560ti) but i put more money in how my pc looks (i go to alot of lan parties) You will be able to pay for a better pc eventually just gotta keep saving up and u'll get there.

I love everthing that has something to do with computers, so I'll give it a go!
I have no idea to start though. Wouldn't I need hosts as well? Those cost money :p

Ye but you will be building websites for companies, the companies will either pay for the hosts, or have their own servers to host the website.

You do not need to put it online anyway, you just need to deliver a working site, it's their job to get the domain name and a host for it.

Atleast that's how we did it, but we only worked for small organisations in our area. Like amatuer soccerclubs and stuff like that.

ps. i would love to give you some hardware, but atm all i got lyin around is a broken 8800gt that im trying to fix.

mother of god... dis rig... fills me with ALL of the feels. Best wishes to you and yours, and here's to you getting a new rig sooner than later!

^^ thanks for the kind words mate!
I'll do my best to safe as much money as possible and spending the least possible :D
Sooner or later I'll have an epic rig which should last me a while :D

I wish you the best of luck man. I just turned 17 a little over a month ago and I know what its like to not have a lot of money. But seeing as what you want to do, I think thing will turn around for you quickly and all those people who bullied you will regret what they have done ;)

Cheers dude!
My dream is to one day stad on one of the i-series lanparties, with a fully modded system :D
Seems far away atm though, but we'll see what the future brings for me :D

Hi there again!
I did some OC'ing today, and at the moment I'm running OCCT @ 2,0GHz and it's been stable for almost 1 hour and 30 minutes, going from between 59' Celcius and 63', with one single peak to 66' Celcius. Celcius at 1,62Volt. more than 20% gain with only 0,02Volts extra. Not bad I'd say :D

Also, can someone enlighten me about that maximum '3000MHz' clock, with my board having a maximum of 2.5GHz (maximum multiplier = 250)? It's a bit strange IMO :p

I think building websites is a good idea. That's my dream job and the one I'm working towards and I have been building websites for about 4 years now and I can give you help if you need it. If you want to be a journalist then what about building a blog/review website for yourself? You could sell advertisement which is a nice little earner. So if you need help in getting started, I can recommend websites and tutorials for help and also show you how to get a website live. I can build pretty much any website now and I have just started my own web development agency in my local area to gain a bit of money. It would be my pleasure to help so say if you need it :)

Cheers buddy!
I've started designing a little bit, I'm getting there :D

The coding is going to be a whole other league though :p

Wow :) Have you done that just now? And the coding is very easy, it took me about a week to learn how to code a website. Just research HTML and CSS. The best way to learn is not to read loads of books, it's to put it into practice. Learn the very basics, then start building and when you come across a problem that you can't solve, you research how to fix it and then learn from it. That's how I did it anyway :)
