The Antique Rig

my one screen once turned green, turned out the vga (yes VGA lol) cable slipped out a bit.

That's quite common given that R G B travels in three wires (red green blue) on VGA. Over time the cables can snap inside and you can lose a colour.

well, i just had to plug it back in correctly. gonna get rid of it sometime soon anyways.

Hey man, i feel really sorry for you. I had almost the exact same problems in the passed.
Alot of bullies in my town that i came across alot after or during school.
I cried alot, even in class.

I know exactly how you feel, it sucks really really bad no one deserves that!

It also got better later, bullies got older and mature and i've never seen them again thankfully.
Still have my friends from my first school, and their friends are my friends now so i'm happy again.

I still remember having almost no money at that age but it got way better at the age of 18+.
Can finally afford big ass rigs. :)

Dont go all the way though, like me i got alot of bills(schulden) still to pay cause i can do these things after being 18 yrs old.

Tried different VGA cable, still happens. Probably the pins on thr monitor itself are bent :(
@Signex: Cheers dude!
I agree with you! No one deserves to get bullied.

Took me 2 weeks to get that working :D
Though Aero only needs pixel shaders and 128mb RAM. And Aero works on Vista with a FX5200, so in the end I just installed the Vista drivers and it worked :D

If you extract the the video drivers from your vista install you can use them with win7. I've run into the same on a couple of laptops that had video driver support for vista, but none were released for win7. I've never been able to come across the drivers on their own. I had to install vista, copy the video drivers, then install win7 and manually update the driver with the one from vista.

Sad news guys.
Antique Rig has gone to silicone heaven.
I'll need to borrow money from my parents, and will probably getting an i3 + HD7850. Monitor will have to wait a few months.

Get a ti boost or 660. Both are around the same price as the 7850 and both are faster.

I see :)
I thought the 7850 was a tad faster than the boost :p
Will have a look at the 660, but Never Settle is a huge advantage on AMDs side. But I don't think they have that in the store where I'll buy anyway.
I'm a bit sceptic on the limited memorybandwith though.

Are you running 4K resolution? because if you're not you've nothing to worry about.

Memory bandwidth only becomes an issue on massive resolutions..

As for the games? 660 should come with Metro Last Light. The rest? I'm sure you could figure out a way of getting those :)

If you ever want a 24" 1080p Samsung Syncmaster for a nice price, I have a spare one here :p

And yeah, don't really know anyone that deserves a new rig more than you do...

I'm going to the store on friday. :D
Not to buy just yet, but to have those people convince my parents I can build that thing myself. I don't want a notebook like my parents want me to have :/
They think my pc blew up because I was f***ing around with it.
Time to step to my parents to tell them I'm 16 and if I screw up it'll be my problem :p
EDIT: though not to buy yet? My parents also walked into a store to 'have a look at' a new TV a few weeks ago. We walked out of the store with a brand new 37" LG TV :p
