Temps

Hi there! new to this forum, have just fitted a new Opteron 175 and was wondering what temps are about right.

I'm idling at 44 degrees and when running Fear Combat I'm getting 50 degrees, does this sound about right? not actually over clocked it yet!

Is there a good program to use to test what this processor is like fully loaded?

Try Orthos or Dual Prime95 for load

Temps are ok..ish

I have a Opty 170 and my temps are around that with the stock heatsink, so your's are fine.

cheers! have manged to get it on full load and goes upto 50 degress! so seem pretty stable

That shud be ok, unless u wanna oc it. dual cores run hotter than single cores.

I've ran Orthos, with both cores maxed out at 100%, I'm getting 55 degrees, do I need to get this lower to do any over clocking? what temps would you guys recommend if this is the case?

your temps are high for a cooler like that, i thought it was a good one

my dual core oc'd by 400mhz is running 55 load, AC Freezer 64 Pro

i thought it would cool better but i guess not :S

I to have a AC Freezer 64 Pro on my single core and it keeps it nice and cool when oced from 2.2 to 2.8.

Make sure the heatsink is on properley, and u can try using some different thermal paste if your using the stock paste.

I would recomend Arctic Silver 5 and Collabortory Liquid Pro (although this stuff is very hard to clean off!)

I use the AC Freezer 64 Pro aswell. Very good cooler. I've OC'ed my 4000+ from 2.4 to 2.83 and its 30 idle (38 stock cooler) and I haven't seen it pass 41 on load. (about 55 on load stock)
