Tape Back up help

Hi all

The company changed it tape backup drive before i joined.

Now they have a need to access an old tape.

Naturally the old tapes are not compatible with the new drive and the old drive got recycled.

So does anyone have a tape drive they do not need that uses these bad boys

Your after a DLT drive or more commonly known as a dat drive. You can get one off ebay for about £40 to £80 maybe cheaper if your lucky.

I do have one but sorry cannot borrow it or lend it or any thing due to its a back up for a company i do work for and it cost me alot more then you can get them for now.

Plus you need to know if you running scsi or IDE (ide ones were **** and don't know any company running them ones) and what scsi format is it.

Issue has been solved thanks.

Found what we needed on the oldest new tape, that does make sense but may take a read or two
