In there.............Sounds fairly simple.

Buy components.

check

Assess workload.

check

Write up plan of install................or just start plugging stuff together.

I went with the second option.

I know this board isn't well received, but I think I may have improved it a tiny bit.

This happened to fall off all by itself...............mostly. Just got to clear the glue off the fins in the previous picture.

So let the fun begin.

the ram looks awesome im deffo getting some of that for my next build... but on the motherboard... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! why o why did you buy something ASROCK

The ram us 1600Mhz 8-8-8 and I've got 16 Gbs. Got it from aria at around £50 for a pair of 4's. Got the 2600k from them as well.

Asrock because I've not liked gigabyte since the socket 370 days and my current Asus 2 gene has been a pain in the ass on the overclocking stability front. I do take peer reviews on board, I like the design of the board power stage. The arrangement of connectors and the it fits with the look I was going for. My slight concern is airflow over the board heatsinks as I'm water cooling but think the side fan on the Haf X should provide enough cooling, if not I can direct it with the shroud to some extent.

They are too long Tom and I was waiting for you to comment

it was my first time. And I wanted the extra length so I could manipulate the res to bleed it. I'll shorten them.

Just a quick question. The 2 led sockets in the back of the 360 res, I'm wondering what the best colour is to illuminate the coolant in the pipes, I'm also wondering how difficult it would be to have some illumination actually sitting in the water, that then made me think about a light source in the water and pulsing it. I'm not using uv coolant/dye but crossed my mind that the water should behave in a similar manner to fibre.

Taken Tom's advice and tidied the loop up, also made a little investment in another device I didn't know I needed.

I've actually cracked the window on the case.........but it's also given me an idea for doing something with one way film on poly. Think white leds in the case allowing you to see in but mirrored when they're off. Sure it's been done before but I think it will look cool.

I've got 3 120mm shark fans coming for the roof rad, and another coolermaster 200 red led for the side. Will post more pictures when it's finished, haven't started on the cable routing yet.

The back left hose is now to the point where the inner diameter is being compromised due to the bend radius.

If I take it any shorter then it's going to increase the loading on the pump and reduce the flow.

Standard tube diameter is 16mm that bottom section sit's at 14.3mm on it's bend.

I had considered that, but my brain associated a rad upgrade at the same time, and then self preservation kicked in cos the Mrs would go mental.

Window has been sorted, I got a couple of sheets of polycarbonate this is mod strike 1, as i'm considering a bigger window but again with the window film in place.

At the minute it's fully reflective as the ambient light is over powering the internal cold cathodes. I'm hoping when it gets darker the cold cathodes should reverse the effect and allow the internals to be seen, but we shall wait and see before I end up ordering a string of LED's.

Also has considered sandwiching a fibre optic line between two layers but have some trials to do with that first to see if I can get enough leakage out of the cladding rather than just firing it out of the end which is kind of pointless.

Would love to see some lights off pics. I reckon a fairly nice reversal of the mirrow will happen eith all your internals on show

It's a bit of a buggers muddle in there at the minute. Haven't sorted out where i'm going to put the temp probes from my fan controller if I use them at all.

So please excuse the wiring.

I don't think there is enough light in there to give a full reversal, although think it may always have a slightly pink hue.

That's with 2 4" cold cathodes, I'm thinking LED string but I also had some crazy idea about a laser pointer and some mirrors................

woot spaghetti for dinner
