Hi guys I have been getting random system hangs and i have to hard reboot it for it to work ie it doesn't respond to ctrl alt del. I don't however receive a blue screen. i was overclocked to 4ghz with 1.4v on an amd phenom x4 955 but have gone back to stock clocks. Could someone please give any suggestions as to what the problem may be. I would much appreciate any help. thanks.

Hi, I had this problem before, in my case it is my CPU that over heating cause the hang, try and lower your OC and see how it goes.

Will do, however i am watercooled and was staying around 42 max. Thanks for the reply. Btw VERY nice rig, just checked your specs.

If you are getting it while running a Google application, paticularly Google Calander don't worry - it's been freezing my system whenever I use it today for some reason.

As it happens the hang today came while I was in bf3 which meant that battle log was open. Also the other time it hung was when I was watching on bbc iplayer. So it must be chrome. thanks mate will report back and could you post on this thread if you get another hang? Thanks mate.

Actually using Chromium, but more or less the same. I think it might be HTML5 rollout glitches.

How long was your CPU overclocked for? I have seen instances where after a CPU was overclocked for a long time it wouldn't run at stock settings causing the computer to hang, they had to increase the voltage to correct the issue.

Blue can you check the dates on the threads you're posting in please mate. This is 8 months old/dead! :)
