Suggestion for SFF case

A friend of mine is building a new SFF build using a mATX P55 mobo and a mATX PSU. I want to know if there are any cases out there that support a mATX mobo and PSU. Most of the cases I have seen either use a standard ATX PSU or come with some piece of crap integrated one. Does anyone know of a decent choice for him?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Your post talks in riddles, do you want it to support a SFF psu aswell or an ATX psu?

Having a SFF psu will really limit choices tbh,

For an mATX board and an ATX PSU you could do worse than the p180 mini. ATX powersupplies give a lot more flexibility in terms of power and connections, and if he intends to do overclocking or to use a decent graphics board, 400W is probably the minimum he wants to be looking at.

I am looking for a SFF case which supports an mATX mobo AND mATX PSU. The PSU he has chosen is the Ultra X4 400W to power a Sparkle low profile GTS 250 and Core i7 860. If he does any overclocking, it will only be to 3Ghz.

I dont think theres much about tbh fella, going for that size psu is just mad tbh as it limits your cases choices so much

Possibly if you swap out the pSU on acase with one built in. Short of going for a mini ITX case and board I think you may be out of luck because the mATX factor is normally big enough and power hungry enough to want a full ATX supply.

There is a mITX P55 board I was considering. I would use that if there is a case which fits a mITX mobo and mATX PSU. The reason I decided on a mATX PSU was because it is fully modular, relatively cheap, and it is small.

There are cases such as the antec mini skeleton and such like which fit mITX boards, but considering they rarely have decent power supplies its a bit pointless. ATX powersupplies are more efficient, more powerful, quieter and much better supported and tend to be available.

SFF cases tend to be either ATX PSU or have their own inbuilt ones, which aren't up to scratch.

That looks cheap and nasty to me, not really sure what your'e after here. Perhaps you should be a bit more clear on what hardware you have (or your mate?) and what you are planning to put in and your budget. As above, I'd seriously consider getting an ATX PSU and a mATX board. In that case, I'd recommend something like the Lian Li V351 or C37B if it's still available.

Personally, for my HTPC I have an Antec Fusion Micro. It's great looking and well priced now I think, only disadvantage is I think it uses a proprietary Antec PSU, though I'd hazard a guess it wouldn't be too hard to mod a mATX unit in there.

This is his hardware-

Gigabyte mATX P55

Core i7 860

Sparkle GTS 250

4GB dual channel 1333Mhz Patriot

Kingston 30GB SSD

Lite On Blu Ray

Ultra X4 400W

The purpose of this build is an HTPC, so smaller is best.
