Steve Irwin Dead

RIP Steve 'Crikey' Irwin, and farewell to a truly passionate Australian. Such a loss to the conservation movement :(

Damn, thats really twisted fate to deal with crocs all your life and then get stung by a stinray :(

Yeah it's ironic for sure, and 44 is too young to die :( He was actually pierced through the heart by the sting, it's all over the tele over here. There is a tribute to him on Ninemsn, you can find it here, or you can leave a message here if you so wish

man I'm gutted, myself and my Wife we're avid watchers of his programmes, seemed the guy was really living his dream and bringing it into the homes of the masses, will be sadly missed in our household for sure, not to mention his Wife and 2 kids.

I for one an gutted :(

RIP Steve irwin.

(I did think when james told me he was dead i thought he had been eaten by a croc or something but being stung by a stingray poor guy)

Well wishes to his wife and kids

When I heard this news I was actually shaking with disbelief. I watch his show every morning before work as he was just the most vibrant character I've ever watched. He was so much more interesting than the boring grey wildlife people you normally get on TV and he made wildlife really interesting!!

He was so passionate about what he did and never rested in getting his message across to people of all ages.

A very sad day to lose such a great person. :(

RIP mate. This is a tragic story, he really was a great character. Definately one of the most entertaining people to watch on TV imo. Sad to see him go at such a young age, though it definately was bound to happen, the guys was freakin' nuts.

He challenged death on a daily basis, but to be the second person to be killed by a stingray is just terrible, terrible luck.

RIP

I doubt it, he was very good with animals, the fact that he wasn't killed by a croc or any of the animals that he usually dealt with shows this. It was just unluckey, they probably don't attach much warning on stingrays at dive school (I guess it depends where you go but I've never been told about them at all) as they've only killed like 17 people ever and 3 local to where he was.

im sure he was very careful this time as well :/

must have been a crazy ray coz i cant see steve stepping on it or similiar

Yeah it was sad to hear about Irwin. He was a funny guy and I watched one of his movies before and it was purposely cheesy and cracked me up :)

R.I.P Steve Irwin :rocker:
