I own a ocz vertex 4 128gb and the time has come where i need to get a bigger sized ssd. I was looking at some reviews and came up with 2 that really stuck out.
Intel 530 240gb(SSDSC2BW240A4K5)
Seagate 600 240gb(ST240HM000)
I was sold on the Samsung 840 evo, but it seems like most of them have problems. and the tlc nand kind of scares me.
Are there any ssd's that someone can suggest?
My budget is around $150usd ±$30usd. I will be buying from amazon.
Thanks

Im also looking for a good SSD if any one can find one! i just want a good large sized one, ill worry about the price later maybe like 2 X 240 GB or something? also every one will be glad to see you upgrade as no one one this forum likes OCZ :( i think most people here are uk based so your budget would be about £100

Crucial m500 and the intel 530 240gb are only 7 cents apart on amazon right now. Now just need to pick the one you want. Crucial has a 3yr warranty, intel has a 5yr.
intel is overall faster as well. I would probably go with the Intel even though i recently bought the m500.

samsung evo for just games or a pro for os, other than that i know a lot of people rate the corsair ssd like maybe give that a look

arn't intel drives supposed to be the best ones? im looking at getting either the Samsung or Intel by the end of the week the samsung is faster with less IOPS where as the Intel is slightly slower with a higher IPOS so what one is better?

real-world, probably the samsung.

I exclusively buy 840 pros now.

Shame you are in the US.

Just had a email notif from ebuyer...

seems pretty good...
It seems like for £19 off its not worth it, its not the fastest or the best IOPS, i think its worth the VERY little extra for a more reliable faster drive

I cant find a spec sheet the difference in price is about £20 what's the difference?
EDIT: I found this http://ssd-comparison.whoratesit.co...Pro-256GB-vs-Samsung-840-Evo-250GB/1408vs1594

Have a 500GB Evo in my laptop. It hits the sweetspot for performance vs price and it's still one of the fastest SSDs on the market. I too was tempted by the pro, but i'm glad I never went through with it.
