Right then members of OC3D..... I'm here because I want to pick your brains and get some fresh ideas for my project.

I have a simraceway SRW-S1 wheel for my racing games, and I have to be honest I suck with it, I honestly cannot use it freehand, I need to mount it.

I butchered an old Saitek R100

So I could use the desk mount and the pedals, I have since decided that this is not the best way to use it, I plan to put the pedal / usb / pcb in a plastic case and have it seperate from the wheel / mount.

The Pedals are fine and I see no need to change them, what this lets me do is use the wheel as a real F1 style wheel where the throttle and brake flaps become the clutch, this will make my F1 2012 racing far more realistic than manual with auto clutch.

So What I need is some help designing a mount, I understand Steelseries are going to bring out a deskmount for it, but that could be many, many, many months away, and I want to get some use out of the wheel and games now before the next revision is released.

Any help, if you have one or are looking at getting one would be great.

I need to make something with stops, maybe spring tension and a bearing so that it only rotates 180 degrees and returns to the centre when released etc....

I also need it to sit just above my desk, so mounted on a desk clamp like the R100.... I've search the internets but only found people with too much money who have mounted the wheel to a G25/27 which is a bit overkill IMO.

Steelseries themselves are working on a desk mount but they are on version 2 and no due date has been released :(

I never understood why they made a wheel for a racing sim that you have hold in the air, that's more something for a wii and mario cart, not for a serious racing game. It's gonna be very hard to mount, I wouldn't know how to do it right.:(

OK, thanks for the input I guess I need to mock something up, as there appears to be an opening for a new short run product :)
