ok guys i want to spread the whole folding@home message to a wider audiance. how many times do we all sit in dr, dentist, hospital waiting rooms looking round n reading leaflets n flyers normaly pinned over every wall. well i can say ive spent alot of times in the past two years in waitig rooms n ive never seen anything about folding@home so i am looking for some help from you guys n girls on designing either a leaflet or a flyer n i will personally go round to all the gp , dentist n hospitals in my local area n get them put up in the proccess we can not only promote a fantastic cause in the fight against cancer n all these terrible illnesses that blight more n more people every day but we can also promote redline@OC3D and OC3D in the proccess ok the problem i have is i wouldnt say i was crap at design its just not my strong point. to be honest i dont even know where to start so come on people lets get are heads together n get the ball rolling it needs to contain all the important information about folding@home along with all the important stuff we here @ redline n OC3D are doing to help in the fight against diseases that effect an ever increasing amount of people every day many thanks in advance

This is a great idea and I will push it with some guys at work for their expert advice if needed (they are all graphic designers and may do it as a favour for me) if we can get the basic idea of a template I am sure they could knock it up pretty quickly.

Mind you there are probably plenty of equally capable guys here as well.

fantastic responce

My fiancée is a graphic designer as well, and I also have

some experience with my wacom.

I am sure that chudleys workingmates can create a great

design when they have the time to do it... If there is no

time I can talk to my personal mate :-D

Sounds like a terrific idea! You might contact PG/Stanford to see if any approval/endorsement is necessary. Possibly they have some images and or text that would be beneficial.

Its surprising really that they have not got anything like this on their site already. I done a quick search yesterday and drew a blank. I am back at work on the 5th so will ask the guys then

The flyer definately needs to have Redline and OC3D on there somewhere as wella s FAH info.

well guys ive had a reply from vijay pande at stanford universaty and im pleased to tell you all that a leaflet would be fine

i cant quite believe how quick i got a reply. Thanks for your kind words and for sharing your own inspirational story. A leaflet would be fine. Please note that we are working on a new client release (v7) and will have a big PR push behind that. The new client should be a lot easier to use and I'm hoping that can make a big difference.

hi my name is sean and i live in manchester england. i have recently got involved with the folding@home project first of all i would like to say what an absolutly fantastic job you are all doing at stanford the reason im e-mailing you is i would like to spread the word about the whole folding@home project my aim is to put leaflets in gp and hospital waiting rooms across the north west of england and with the help of our folding team across the whole of the uk. basically to get the message across to a wider audiance i myself was diognosed with hodgkins disease in aug 2009 i am pleased to say i have been given the all clear. in all the time i spent in hospital waiting rooms i never once saw anything on folding@home its only since i got involved with redline@OC3D that i found out about the fantastic work that is being done to try and combat these terrible illnesses that blight all are lives in one way or another. the leaflet im proposing to use will have all the details on folding@home along with information on how to fold. i just wanted to know if this would be ok to do and if there is any approval or endorsement needed? hope to here from you soon many thanks in advance sean

Although I dont fold at the mo, I would be more than happy to take some leaflet and posters etc to gp and hospitals in the south.

I will get back to folding, just not had the time to get a rig together. I have had cancer (renal cell) had to have kidney removed, so anything I can do to help, I will do.

mint mate this seems to be gathering pace ive also been struck by this terrible illness and its a pleasure for me to be able to be giving something back i will let you know how this pans out hope you ok know mate good luck getting a folding rig together
