Ok so I'm going to post over here what they general setup will need to run Vista Ultimate, basically the same will apply for Home Premium.
Ram:
<512 MB - Don't even try it.
512 MB- It boots up, but it takes a very VERY long time to load and you will be seeing about 90 percent memory usage upon bootup.
1GB- Gives you about the same performance as using 512 MB in XP. Works well until you get to starting file transfers etc, don't try and heavily multi task your system WILL crash.
2GB -Optimal performance. Gives you the same performance as 1GB in XP.
CPU:
Dual core Intel 9 Series+=Great performance
Intel Single Core 6 series +- Well I'd say it'd give you so so performance...
GPU:
XFX 7600 GT xXx - Works great, I'm sure all 7600s will work.
I'm thinking anything in the Nvidia 7600s + will work fine
Anything from ATI x1600+ should work well also.
The optimal cards will be the 800GTX and GTS from Nvidia obviously but those aren't needed yet. We also still need to see ATI's offerings.
Sound:
I use built in 7.1 HD sound in my motherboard. I don't really think it matters though.
