Speed and timing ?

Hello dear people here on overclock3d.

I've got an opportunity to buy some RAM, but it's just whether I should take in this offer. It should of course like to be worthwhile for me personally to go for fast timing on these ram or should I go for the other I will throw below?

Corsair Vengeance Pro:
2133 MHz / PC3-17000, CL11-11-11-27

Both of these two sets of ram is from their Corsair Dominator Platinum series:
2133 MHz / PC3-17066, CL9-11-11-31

2133 MHz / PC3-17066, CL9-9-9-24

But the problem I have come to is that I can get the latest RAM for the same price as the first set. This means I can actually get faster RAM and timing for a price which is 400 DKR less than what they normally are.

But can it pay off when I only need it for games? The games I use the most is WoW and CS:GO and has just began BF4 also.

System spec right now is:
  • i5-3570k
  • MSI GTX 780 Gaming OC
  • Asus Z77 Rog matx board.
  • Corsair AX760
  • Corsair H100i
  • Corsair 240 GB SSD
  • Corsair 480 GB SSD "Games"
  • WD 3TB green "Music and movies"

Kind regards,

Christian "Etlar" Hesselberg

In gaming you will not notice any difference between those kits. Go for which ever suits your colour theme best, although they both fit a red theme.

Please keep in mind Cooperman that he is using an Ivy Bridge CPU and the memory controllers on those are better than Sandy Bridge memory controllers.

In the end IMO get the cheapest of the 3 listed options. If something cost the same as the other but one is faster than mine as well get that one.

Also what i was thinking, but all the info cooperman come whit was good to read. Easyer to pick the right things, but i also like the faster ram my self. So will go after the 2133 CAS 9-9-9-24 and it also only use 1.5v :D
