Something Special

Good work there matey :)

thank mate :)

just a quick question maybe a noob question..

so in the loop i'm using deionized water to clean and rinse, could i use the same deionized water as coolant if i got a silver kill coil and Mayhems Dye Deep Red concentrate?

the blocks are nickel plated copper and the rads are 90% copper tubing (H90) with Brass chambers.

thoughts guys and girls

I wouldn't do that as you used it to clean out any leftover gunk or acrylic sawdust or w/e. You want to keep the water you're about to use as clean as possible imo even though you're going to use a kill coil and some PtNuke.

I cleaned everything with tap water and repeated the process a few times with distilled afterwards just to make sure everything was as clean as it could be.

Oh right, I've flushed the for a 2nd time and still have over 2 litres of deionized water left. I was thinking about using it as coolant as there are so many mixed opinions about it.

I see no problem, as long as what you put into your loop is clean and not what you used to flush the system.

Purity is important so you dont want any foreign objects or contaminants.

update: the first casualty of the build is my EVGA sli bridge

the led is dead as I tried to disassemble it for painting :(

Maybe small stuff like custom stickers for the fans, a red snowflake instead of the blue? But other than that it looks gorgeous!

thanks mate, how your build coming along?

It's nearly finished, actually just dropped an update. I have some work to do on the PSU shroud yet, as it ended up a little out of whack when I bent it, but that and mounting the SSD is really all that is left.

I like the paper towel - makes me think a white false floor would look the goods and compliment the motherboard (unless I saw that on another Fractal competition rig?) It would also cover up those fan vents in the floor. If it's too much white then a stealth black floor would go well with the space in the front behind your res.

Only other comments are to consider De-stickering the top of the PSU or turn it up the other way.

Overall the build looks really good!

Tom has one in the GPU test rig ;)

I agree with TPC it's stunning fella, huge props to you for completing the loop.

Looking good dude. As Wraith said, well done for finishing the loop and not giving in, many props for your determination!
And, also as Tom said, turn the PSU over. Looks much cleaner without the sticker showing, I had the same issue with my RM850i in my build.

the stress is real!

The boys are right IMHO - get that PSU turned over

it's a of a pain in the a$$ to do with the loop done, I'm thinking of putting a psu shroud

i would like to use the OC3D logo somewhere but want to run it by you first.

you joking? what happened dude?

EDIT also need to come up with a name for the pc it's self.

A psu shroud would do the trick, but I almost feel at this stage in the build it would be more work than it's worth. Especially since you have tubing that would run though it in the center.

It's looking really sweet, the balance of white, black and red is great. I also think that the PSU would look better turned over. Some form of cover for the floor, an acrylic plate or just nice sound dampening foam would really complete it. Personally I think that matt black would look best so the cables and fittings stand out against it. A shroud wouldn't be that great and ending it half way along the case would be really awkward, especially with such a nice PSU and cables.

In the last picture it looks really incomplete with the LED's directly visible. I'm presuming the side panel covers them up but it's still great to see so much of the build. A side panel with a tiny frame and no glass would set it off for final pictures as either with or without the stock one in place it's a little compromised IMO.
