Hi guys

Am guessing you need an antivirus program on servers also, if so? Which one should I get??

Heard that free antivirus software doesn't work with server os, so if I need one can someone recommend one.

Cheers hay x

I use kaspersky enterprise on my servers. That's my AV of choice. Not sure what one license will cost.

Sophos works well, i'm unsure about individual installs but sophos enterprise console for managing lots of clients is a fantastic bit of software, and not too expensive either.

Thanks just looked on there website Oooouch!!! over £300 for a 1 year licence (If I was looking at the right thing) as couldn't find enterprise on there

Hayley just get Nod32, you dont need a server version. Ill try and work out over the weekend what one it is. Its only £30 odd quid a year.

NOD32 really is what you should all be using anyways

Sophos is the worst antivirus ever, after norton! I installed it first hand with my brother last week at work, and it thought windows update was a virus, but most hilariously of all, yes, it thought ITSELF was a virus!

Hmm, that's seems a bit pricey to me. I renewed our licenses last year, have 150 of them. For 3 years it cost about $3000. That's only $20 a license for 3 years or less than $7 per license per year.

I had a quick look on their site and it looks like they only sell business licenses as 10 or more. AFAIK you would need a business license for server 2008. Only way to be sure though would be to contact a local reseller. I go through a reseller myself and the costs are much much cheaper than kaspersky's website.

A close second would be NOD32, you can't go wrong with either. I prefer kaspersky's enterpise management, but that's not something you would be looking for anyway.
