So how much can you shoehorn into a HAF 912

So this thing was meant to replace my aged 1.9Ghz Pent 4, I didn't like the fact that a full tower case had to sit on the floor so I wanted a mid tower. I figured hey theres gonna be a video card and maybe a wireless card in it along with the drives, no big deal...Then I went shopping and overdid it, as usual. I ended up with this:

Nice hardware, awful cabling...

It's actually a lot better than it was, Theres no where to put the power leads to the cards so I had to strap them up where they lay. I'm still trying to figure out how to re route the stuff from the 5 1/4 drive bays around so you can't see it, the hole isn't big enough.

All that money on all that nice gear, then a case like that. Makes me very sad-face.

I think of it as a challenge to get it to fit, I really wish the damn cables were shorter though (staring at my wire cutters)...

I do have to say I'm supprised no one had any comments about my creative HDD mounting solution. At some point the thing's gonna get stripped and put into a proper sized case but probably not untill the fall.

Cabling on the HAF 912 isn't so easy with that kind of hardware. You really should have got a better case for this guild of build though.

I'd Love a HAF X or Cosmos But they just won't fit in the spot under the desk, I really need to have a mid tower and that presents problems, again with where to route all that extra cable. Anyone have expierience with the 932 ADV? I know thats only slightly larger but I think the format for the back panel and such is the same so it would still be a tight fit.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hunt around on ebay for a second hand akasa eclipse, your psu might not get to much airflow being very long (have the same issue with my enermax galaxy, but i have had no overheats and it seems to run cool, but other than that i should think it would suite your needs quite well

Looks like a powerful setup you've got there. On the case topic, would it not fit in a Fractal Arc Midi or R3 and still fit under the desk? Lots of cable management opportunities there too... Saying that, looking at your pics you've done a stellar job getting the insides as neat as they are with the options you've got.

totally agreed with that as i own HAF 912 ADV.

Pezy, i do also like HAF X, COSMOS or full tower casing. just the price push me off.

anyway, nice build.

i have the same psu and don't like the way the cables are braided, since im keeping it for my next build it's going to be MDPC for me..always like what the guys do here and i would take anyone of them over a pre-built rig... now im off to borrow a few more ideas
