Small talk & Chit chat

I might download it at some point. Ain't gonna lie it deffo appeals. I think the best series I ever watched was Chernobyl. Oh my god that was so good.

Finally got around to installing the extra 2x2tb ssd's it should have been a simple thing, but it wasn't had to recable some things and then when in windows one of the drives while detected was playing up, so opening the case a 2nd time and checking solved that but then the fan hub was not spinning up the fans so yet again into the case to solve that.

So what should have been a 20min job took a fair while but all up and running now and moving some stuff about, but 38.25tb's should last me a while done some maths and atm i have 7+tb free space over all so enough for a fair few future games.

Overall there is about 2025+ games installed and plenty of emu stuff and with the new fiber have been enjoying 4k video content more often as space is far less of an issue :)

the fiber is pretty nuts seen it over a gigabit often but installing anything is quick and hassle free, installed the mesh units's in the house made a huge improvement to signal quality so all devices get as much as they can anywhere in the house.

It's only really my PC that gets full bandwidth on the network card connected directly different devices vary in speed but all good for general use so thumbs up on the mesh vast improvement over the router :)

I had a real pee-er of a night last night. Figured "I will fit the new 360 cooler I bought, 10 minute job". After about an hour I realised I was going to have to strip the entire rig. all of the fans, GPU, mobo and etc. It was then 10pm, and I have been going at it hammer and tongs for the past week after nearly dying (no joke) a couple of weeks ago. So I bailed.

Life is more important, yo.

For about two years I have had this loud whooshing in my head when I sleep. Like, so loud it wakes me up. At one point I decided to look into it, but put it down to the ear plugs I wear. Thing is a few months ago I had periods of it during the day.

My uncle passed of cancer recently, and before he passed he bought a blood pressure machine because he needed it. So my aunt took it over mum's a few weeks back, so when I got there I thought "oo toy, must have a go". My blood pressure was 178 over 112. I looked it up and yeah, that is really terrible. So I did it again, 172 over 110.

I then started logging it. The best I had was 149/98. All week. At the end of the week I had banging headaches, and I was struggling to get my words out. I also couldn't think. By that time it was over 180. Phoned 111, who put me through to my doc, and am now on meds for it.

I have lost 6 stone, but man I suppose it is why it's a silent killer. In other news as soon as the meds started working so did I. Built my new bed.

And finished the re-arrange.

Got a new Pen Drive for my Unraid Server, ATP Nanodura Enterprise grade Pen Drive £55 for a 16GB USB 2.0, but when you look in to them they are well worth the money, need to order some more at some point, 1 for my other server and then have some backup's just incase.

Got my Pixelmon and a couple of other Minecraft and Game Servers up and running on my Unraid server.

Now I just need to connect to them from a different network to make sure they are working fine for friends.

Next thing on my list for it, is to get the SSD's sorted in it.

If you need help hop on Discord, Remember I help people lose weight, Build muscle and sort out their food as my daily job, I won't charge a penny and will be more than happy to help a forum friend.

My dads blood pressure was exactly like yours, After sorting out his eating he lowered his overall bodyfat % and through the nutrition difference his BP is now 130/60 with a resting heart rate of 60, Both are sometimes lower if he's super relaxed.

Is this an offer that one could potentially take you up on as well?...

I’ve lost 6 stone dude. I’m at 15 now which is amazing. My dads side had bad hearts and his sister died of a stroke. He died when he was 35 of a massive heart attack and his brother had to have a triple bypass.

I never ate bad and never do I just ate far too much. Which is all medication based. Like one of them makes you feel like you haven’t eaten for a week no matter how much you may have eaten before you take it. It makes your cholesterol soy rocket and your blood sugar.

Problem is it’s the best thing I’ve ever taken for bipolar so I’m
Not coming off it.

As I say man a lot of it is just genetics.

That I can relate to, I was brought up to eat everything on the plate and later taught to cook enough for everybody to not be hungary after a catch 22

So the new hdmi cable was super worth it really well made thick braid, so had the length for the movement on the stand, monitors move freely, had to pull the desk out 2 inches to allow the arms space to fully go back, have my whole desk rather than 1/3 of it due too monitor stands :)

Since i'm using the left monitor in portrait for streams and browsing etc, i didn't like the address bar/tabs so high, chrome doesn't let you customise it to move that stuff to the bottom, but i did some googling and found a browser i'm trying idk what it's based on but it's very customisable like everything.

It's called Vivaldi never heard of it until today.

But it does what i need for my preference and so if you have a multi monitor setup it's worth looking into as you can set things however you wish.

Cant you just hit F11 on the 2nd monitor to hide away as to your preference? Since both monitors shouldnt be connected togheter in that regard.

I guess i could have done that, but tbh I like the new browser, thou on the left I do split the screen in half thou is handy for web browsing as see more of the page without scrolling.

Still I have edge firefox and chrome and now vivaldi so it's nbd really :)

thou i did just test F11 and it doesnt work for my use case as the issue was to move the address bar/tabs to the bottom of the page and F11 removes eveything.

Yooooo dude. Awesome to see you again.

How is the little one? not so little now huh?

I remember the name been a while :)

I've been having a rough few weeks atm, just life stuff, but family bbq with the main people and a chat solved much of the issues, just not going to deal with much of the rest of the family atm, just too big and at times totally false like people can be, but with my health issues it's a really bad mix.

Still the red arrows were good the last few days down here, and thankfully I can relax a lot more now, nvme drive turned up hope the adaptor works to the 1gb speed all be it far slower than a slot, but 2tb at £55 is a steal only issue was it got sent to 138 and not me at 135 so lucky that the guy popped round last night as that could have easily gone for good around here so double lucky.

Been a very long time hope you are doing good as well!

Shock horror the 7700XT and 7800XT are barely any faster than the 6800 and 6800XT at most 5% going by everything I've seen the past week, where the 7800XT seems to do slightly better is in standard firestrike scores but in everything else very similar.

Still better prices and decent cards, but I'll state this if i was looking at the 7700XT as an option to pick up, just go get a 6800 asap it's the same performance cheaper and 4gb extra vram.

Still reviews will be out tomoz and I'll not be at all surprised by the results exactly what I expected the whole time but there is gains on the cards compared to 6k series as they have less CU's.

Well we did cover this. As in "Even if it is barely any faster it is still $150 cheaper than last gen".

Funny thing is the 7700XT is actually looking way better than I thought it would be, and smashes the 4060Ti.

I agree though, not great. Good, but not great.

Bit of a mixed bag in some cases they do a fair bit better and in others so similar, but still decent cards. where i was surprised and also disappointed is okay the 7800XT has 10 less CU's so of course there is gains made but not as good as I was hoping for compared to my 6800XT, So it seems HypR RX is 7k only going by the drivers today as i can't see it in my settings so maybe I'll switch to a 7900XTX next year really depends on how good that ends up being tbh and how a certain game performs with that.

7800XT in DXR thou vs my 6800XT I expect 11k+ is possible on the 7800XT but I was hoping for more in truth on that card.

ROJUQgJ.jpg

I'm not knocking the the cards thou and the prices are actually lower than i was thinking so good all round as often the $-£ ratio can be wild, but in truth Nvidia has no choice but to drop prices as I do expect these two cards to sell a lot now just not from us 6k owners and as good as they are in the midrange atm I do feel while in stock the 6k is the place to be as them prices are going to fall more yet.

But hopefully by spring time I'll have the funds for a newer card.

The prices are going to drop. It was literally confirmed by Scott.

He said something about the AIBP having much more control over the 7700XT prices once the first shipments are done.

In other words?

When the 6000 series are all sold you can expect price drops across the board.

And in fairness AMD have done this on every 7000 release card so far. The 7600 dropped before it had even been available and has dropped twice since, and the 7900 series cards have both dropped for a long while too.

This is all about getting rid of the 6000 series cards without having to discount them down to £400. It is just taking AMD a lot longer to do that than it took Nvidia to get rid of all of the Ampere cards.

Also, there could be a card up their sleeve. The 7000 series have accelerators the 6000 do not. As such the frame gen could be way better on the 7000 series. And this may be why they have not released it yet, because there are still lots of 6000 series cards out there.
