Slow boot and just slow

Hey.

My pc was working fine yesterday but today its booting really slow and takes forever for anything to load... Ive got rid of any viruses etc and its done nothing, cant even restore to a previous date as it wont let me, its really pissed me off and confused. Anyone got any idea before I spend money on getting someone to have a look. The only thing I did yesterday was download some DLC from Steam for Borderlands.

Could be a problem with the HDD. Have you tried checking it? perhaps a defrag would help too if it hasnt been done.
