• Where are you located? Spain
• What is your budget? 500€
• Will you need a monitor, keyboard, and/or mouse included in that budget? No
• Shall you be requiring an OS? No
• What will you be using this rig for? Gaming
• If gaming, what resolution will you be playing at? 1360x768 (My current Monitor)
• Will you be overclocking? No
• Do you need a full build or will you be reusing some old parts New build

I have been wanting a gaming PC for a long time but I have been unemployed for about 3 or 4 years (Unemployment in Spain is still shocking) so I got the crazy idea of trying to build a cheap PC with an i3 and eventually once I get money upgrade to an i7.

So, a few bits I have penned down:

Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 Motherboard 83,95€
Intel Core i3-4169 3.7GHz 107€
Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz 44,90€
NZXT S340 Case 63€
GeForce GTX 750 Ti Strix 4GB DDR5 189€

What do you guys think? Or should I wait a few more years until I get a job?

I don't plan on playing massive big budget games really, especially not to start with, but I would be playing games like Minecraft, No Mans Sky, Euro Truck Simulator, Cities Skyline and other games of that type.

I currently have a Medion motherboard, 4GB DDR3 RAM as you can see in my stats.

I also own a PS4 and a Vita but they would be sold to fund the project, I have no patience lol

Maybe consider a used i5, hunt through ebay, plenty of them available, those extra 2 cores will make a huge difference, especially in sim type games. Plus, you can pick up a new 760 or even a used 770 for the same price as that 750ti (You shouldn't need the 4GB version at that resolution).

I'd go for a FX6300 over an i3 for a gaming rig normally but seeing as you're planning to upgrade CPUs then I guess its best to stick with an i3.
I'd look at an r9 270/370 instead of the 750Ti unless power draw is really important to you. They seem to be a bit cheaper.

Cheers guys, I will stick with the i3 and hope some Christmas money comes my way :P Also, where I am buying the card from the R9 is only 10€ cheaper for 2GB one :S

However, although I love the look of the S340 case, I may change to a BitFenix Comrade as it is 30€ cheaper and at a later date I have an option to buy a windowed side panel.

EDIT

So I went to sell my PS4 and Vita but what they give me for it is really not worth it, so I will be doing a build around Christmas with money from Christmas which means I can probably afford better components but still trying to keep it on a low budget, what I am very unsure on is the motherboard, has anyone got any suggestions of a good gaming motherboard under 200€? Maybe around the 150€ mark.

So in about a month I should be able to start buying parts, think I will dish out for an i5 in the end :D

Just curious, is this graphics card any good? It costs 205€

MSI R9 380 Armor 2X 2GB GDDR5

Wow, already up there in the price range lol Not even got the RAM or PSU in there.

Ok. I think I have this one set now, so any advice again would be welcome, where I might need to improve, or where I could save money :D

i5-4690K
Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3 Motherboard
Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600 CL10 2x4GB
R7 370 Nitro Dual-X OC 4GB DDR5 Graphics Card (wouldn't mind crossfiring in the future)
Enermax MaxPro 500W PSU
NOX Hummer USB 3.0 Case White

Thanks :D

So I made the first order for my first components, should arrive tomorrow, very exciting. I decided to save on the case and get one that isn't as nice looking which is blue and black so I dipped for 8GB of HyperX Fury blue RAM to go with it and I will probably grab another 8GB closer to Christmas.

Case: Sharkoon VG4-W
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Blue DDR3 1600MHz PC3-12800 8GB
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3

Next will be the CPU, PSU and GFX Card, still unsure of the GFX card as the website has raised the prices of the 290X just before Christmas :(
