Should I wait for the new Ivy Bridge Mobile Laptop CPUs?

I am planning on getting an Alienware M18X, gonna get it with 2x6990m's and was gonna get the 2630 or 2720qm CPU but, I do not know sense it is getting close to the holidays if I should wait for the Ivy Bridge mobile Cpus. Should I wait, or should I just get the 2630QM or 2720QM?

P.S. If you do not know what you are talking about, do not open your mouth and reply in a place you do not know anything about XD

all depends bro how soon do ya need the lappy?? if now then no dont wait.

I really do want it now but, seeing as how working at fucking Pizza hut takes awhile for me to get the first payment for the Dell Financing, I may have to wait till October or something

and it is playable with about the average of 30-40 fps or a little more I think.

That isn't playable. Maybe by their definition but most certainly not by mine.

For a game to be playable it must maintain a minimum of 30 FPS. Anything lower and you will get stuttering and lag. That stuttering and lag will affect the gameplay as it most certainly did in Crysis 1 on my 9800GT.

I can only shudder to think what this laptop costs. Especially if it can even run Crysis 2, even poorly.

And that worries me.

Dumping thousands into a laptop has never been a very good idea for a good few reasons. I'm sure you know them all, but I'll try and help any way. Heat, too much of it. Constant GPU failure out of warranty (you seen what those mobile GPUs cost? triple the desktop counterpart). Wear and tear. Completely over priced for the performance you get.

I would imagine there's absolutely no talking you around, but have you considered building a fast desktop and getting an M11x?

I wanna ask you something, did I ask for criticism? No I did not, I asked for info about a CPU and so, kindly do not post if you are not actually giving desired information. Another note, yes it is playable 2x6990m's Should run a minimum of 25 and average of 40.3 from what I have been seeing, that is very playable, beyond playable actually.

The reason I want to get the Laptop is because I want to bring it with me to my highschool, provide a little entertainment for my friends at school and to just have fun. I do not want to just build a Desktop, I plan to do that at a later date. Also, the cost of this laptop is about $2576 which is allot cheaper then the desktop I plan to build XD. I also plan to change the Thermal Paste to some IC Diamond and get a Cooling pad. If you know any good cooling pads, I would appreciate the advise on that

Criticism? I call it facts. If you want me to critique you say the word.

Go away and study how frames per second work. Read Edison's theory on the human eye and reflex. He suggested that anything below 46 FPS was not acceptable.

As for kindly do not post? Then kindly you know, do not post yourself. You posted on a public forum that every one here has access to. This isn't called DiggyDiggyHole's forum it's Overclock3D. Meaning it's a public forum meaning any one can post here, as long as it's in the rules.

But you know what? screw it. Go and waste your money. Get yourself into debt, like I give a monkey's scrot sweat.

Infact remember this?

Weren't bothered about it then were you? I seem to recall you being extremely vocal with your opinions and extremely critical and the same time. Hypocrisy isn't your best bet when I'm around. I don't tend to miss it.

P.S

P.S. If you know what you are talking about, do not open your mouth and reply because I'm not interested in good advice and I am determined to get this laptop any way. Quite why I posted this thread is a mystery, because any factual and well informed opinions are going to be ignored any way.

FTFY !

Dude as alien said this is a public forum for anyone who wants to help people who have questions. Hes only trying to help you get the best for your money. You honestly think 25-40 fps is playable?.. When your playing FPS games you want the smoothest picture you can, not your computer stuttering every time theres an explosion or multiple people firing at you. If your not going to listen to the people trying to help you why post?.. Also I'd expect you'll be waitin a while for an ivy bridge m CPU to come out anyways.

I'm actually glad you picked that up tbh.

That's exactly what I was trying to do, but it seems I shouldn't have cared.

It's remarkable really. There he was a couple of days ago ranting on about how people that buy Alienware desktops are complete idiots that should be building their own yet here he is brainwashed by a laptop and is refusing to listen to any reason.

What's the difference? I mean, it's like trying to explain to some one why they shouldn't buy a Killer network card. Yet they're going to be determined to get it any way, so why frigging ask?

It's not rocket science on FPS. Even if you don't technologically understand what it means or how the human eye percieves it then if you're a PC gamer you should at least have heard the term and learned that anything below 30 is just not acceptable. The human eye will detect it and if repeated you will end up with a splitting headache.

Ho hum.

Ummmmmmm it does not XD I saw people play this with just the 6970m's on a 55 Sony HX800 and it played completely smooth, so I know that you are all just freaking out and are wrong. How do I know your wrong? Because I have seen it. I probable will, anless I can finally get $215 for the first payment e.e

The reason I do not listen is because I have SEEN it done XD It is not jittery, it is smooth and crisp so I know that you are wrong.

What is so fucking bad about me wanting to get a Gaming Laptop over a Gaming Notebook? Good lord, you and I will just never see I to I is the situation :T

Diggy, you are being extremly childish. YOU asked for help and/or advice and you just reject the facts and say "I no care, i buy anyways", have you seen crysis run at 100 FPS vs your so smooth 25 FPS? Please do some research first and try to find out how the human eye works before you start flaming at everyone that states anything you do not like
