Should I give up?

OK, after 5 mountings, double checking the proper contact of the evap against the CPU, starting the PC from the GT without the evap mounted, starting the GT with a screw driver, nothing works. Same old message: Bad BIOS checksum.

Impossible to boot. Reflashed a dozen times, nothing.

But as soon as I go back to air cooling, no problems at all...

Should I consider changing my mobo? The GT seems to work fine, cooling down to -62 (as displayed), starting the PC at -50.

I noticed that very often, when I removing the evap head, the CPU is not anymore in its socket, bu I guess this is coming when I remove the head.

Is there any known incompatibility with the P4C800 Dlxe mobo? (not the E one)

Help please

If it is pulling the chip out of the socket every time perhaps ur using a combo of too much pressure / compound...

yes try not to use that much thermal paste

i also read that if you overtighten the asus board then the board has probs..

try for once not to tighten well the evap head on the cpu...

and see what it does :)

Mouwahaha! After a very expensive upgrade of my mobo (get a P4C800 E this time) and a new CPU (3.2C), remounted the GT head (got some experience now in mounting) and.....it works!!!!!!!! I can't remember the last time I was so happy to see this boot screen....

It seems stable -55 deg idle. Hope this sounds good enough. I didn't try to overclock yet, probably tonight. I'm just too happy to be able to use my PC...:)
