Also got some nice little black thumbscrews as well.

Added some more vinyl to the pci slot cover and mounted the fan, guard & i/0 shield.

So now I just need to buy a hdd/ssd & monitor - I've already got a suitably themed k/b & mouse.

Hopefully it'll be up and running soon, might do some cable sleeving - maybe.

Really good progress mate, loving the carbon vinyl and the overal finish of the back. Looks much, much better than before

I got my PicoPSU from LinITX, althought they are out of stock atm. I haven't put together my build with the Samuel 17 yet, but from all that I've read its pretty good. I know Tom was using one in his HTPC so it should be good.

OK, just a quick update on my progress. I got an order from Chilled PC today.

If you haven't used them they are great, I only placed the order yesterday afternoon. The braid and heatshrink are really good quality and easy to work with, and while I was there I had to get a few more supplies - you know what its like.

So I braided the Xigmatek fans & the Pico PSU 150-XT.

I also got a delivery from Aria, again brilliant service, only ordered yesterday afternoon.

Just waiting for one last little part that I ordered off eBay, and then I'll be assembling. Won't be able to afford the screen this month, as the car insurance is due soon, so that'll have to wait for next month.

Cheers dude.

I think for the price its a bargain. It was £89.99 - so £1/GB - which is awesome considering I paid nearly £200 for one of the original Intel 80GB SSD's.

Braiding looks nice

Thanks mate.

The heatshrink is 3:1 as well which makes life a bit easier, and using a candle lighter means that you don't burn your fingers.

Urrrgh, now I wish I hadn't ruled out getting the Enforcer case. You mentioned you got one in another thread so thought I'd check it out - and it looks awesome. Nice work.

OK so I've had a frustrating couple of days. You're meant to enjoy doing this stuff aren't you? Its what we live for the buzz of the build. I've put together a fair few SFF builds, but this is my first ITX one. I have to say that you need the patience of a saint, the hands of a 5 year old and dexterity of a neurosurgeon. Unfortunately I have non of the above.

Firstly the AWP-140 fitted onto the board fine, but its way too big for that case, what on earth was I thinking - it fouled the rear fan and the drive cage.

So I thought that I would try the Samuel 17 to see if that fitted - alas no that fouled my ridgeback ram.

So yesterday I ordered a Cooler Master Gemin II M4 from Aria, which arrived today and fits fine. So I just hope its upto the job of cooling the APU. I'll try and post some piccies tomorrow.

EDIT: Added piccies of the of the AXP-140 mounted on the F1A75-I Deluxe

Sorry there have been no updates in a while. I've been plodding along but had my mind elsewhere as per usual...

My daugther's Pink Cube PC is all but complete. It's got Windows installed, I just need to buy the monitor and a couple of other things. I have the PWM fan on the cpu cooler controlled by the OS atm. The rear fan has a fan speed reducer and runs at ~1000rpm and its set as an intake so that the case will have positive pressure. Its whisper quiet, only the fan led and the power light give it away.

Some piccies of the installed hardware.

The PicoPSU comes with 1 * sata power & 1 * molex power so to mimimize the cable clutter, I bought a male molex to sata female connector. You can see it attached to the SSD - really handy little connector.

As this is also going to be a light gaming rig, I wanted to get a couple of Xbox controllers for it. So I bought a couple of used ones off eBay, but they were a bit dull in just white & grey. So I scoured eBay, looked at a modding vid and came up with these Pink Xbox Controllers:-

Please, can you tell me if the picopsu warms up very much? I'm planing to use it in a HP N40L server.

The PicoPSU has had a lot of use over the last 6 months or so, and heat simply isn't an issue.

Thought that I would take this opportunity to post a picture of the final build, as I was a very naughty boy not to finish off this log...

I decided in the end to use the Samuel 17, as it was the best overall fit. I used the thin fan that came with the Cooler Master M4. It meant that I couldn't use the Ridgeback RAM - so I just used some cheap Corsair sticks I had lying around.

If you are interested in any shots of the completed internals let me know and I'll upload some.

As far as the HTPC build went, I have only just finished that. The motherboard had a faulty dimm slot. When I returned it they were out of stock for ages, so in the end I swapped it for an matx board and built it in a Silverstone GD06. Again if you're interested I'll post pics and specs.:)
