Serious Problem

Ok now am lost as wee to go next, i have tryed everything i know and nothing seems to make a difference.

Spec:

E6300 @ 3.15Ghz

1 GB Geil DDR2 PC6400 RAM

Gigabyte DS3

BFB GeForce 7600GT

Seagate 200GB SATA HD

2 x Maxtor 160GB SATA HDs

Tagan 500W PSU

Tonight i went to take out the RAM and replace it with 1 GB i got from the MM as I have to RMA both sticks to Geil. Upon swapping the sticks, and cleaning off dust with a clean brush, the machine starts up, as in lights, fans etc but nothing on screen, not one thing.

Tryed the Geil RAM again, re-sitting the GFX card 3 times, swapping RAM in different slots.

Nothing happens other than then machines fans, lights, HD spinning up.

I dont no were to go from here so all help is welcomed.

I have also tryed clearing the CMOS by pulling the battery out and leaving for an hour but still no luck

Argh, I never like the "fan comes on but no1`s home" problems.

For me it`s been either cpu fragged or the mobo >.<

Last rma was a mobo problem.

But u`ve cleared the bios....

.. cpu doesn`t sound happy to me, strip the pc down to just the visual output, cpu and a stick of known good memory - only, and try for a post.

U not get any beeps at all ?

Had the same problem with my P5B DLX when it got a bit wet. Fans but no output on the screen :(

no beeps what so ever from the board.

The brush i used was a semi-hard bristle brush hair dressers use to apply hair dry. I have used the same brush for 3years on man rigs without any issuess.

Am gonna test the GFX card in a buddys machines tonight and if it works then its the board or CPU. But the thing that stomps me is the machine was running 100% pior to swaping the RAM and a clean up, just its just nackered

when you take the card out, strip the lot out and try running it on an anti static bag somewhere, its possible that the adding / removing the ram has moved the board slightly and is causing a short behind it. Physical damage to the motherboard is all i can see happening, unless your CPU is IHSless and you have a tall heatsink which you knocked or something

Already have had the board out running on its own, with just the GFX card, 1 stick of RAM, CPU and 1 HD with still nothing :(

CPU is not IHSless and wasn't touched during the install of the new RAM. I have a mate taking the GFX card away tonight to test it and will have it back within a few hours so ill be able to say if its it or not.

If its not the GFX card then a new mobo in needed i guess. Asus PB5 Deluxe on router

Shizzzle, kinda leaves u up in the air as to which exactly is at fault >.<

U got any m8s with similar spec u can lean on ?

not with a similar spec but i do have a mate who has a PCI-e board to test the card on but his board only takes DDR and not DDR2 so i cant test the RAM on it
