So my rotten luck is still with me, devastated

G'day to my OC3D family, well I got some good news today after running tests it turns out my 3700X is fine it was the board that folded and after waiting for new boards to arrive in Australia and then retesting both the CPU in the new board everything is running sweet so MSI are putting it in the post for me today!

That's great. I'm glad that things have worked out like that. Hopefully you will receive your package soon.

I'm now back on my main PC, my only issue to try and figure out is the fan controller isn't being seen in the bios so the fans are running max chat and noisy so once I get that figured out I'll be happy!

I had an issue with an MSI board a few years ago, where I had the same thing.

I learnt that the board had 4-pin fan headers but they voltage controller only with no PWM. Really annoyed me! Could that be what you're experiencing?

Got it fixed what you have to do with the coolermaster fan controller is make sure the red pwm header is populated and then boom it's recognized and all set 700rpm it's wonderful!
