Thank you!
For the motherboard painting, it is really a straightforward mod.
Secret of this is masking correctly your motherboard.
Be sure to seal everything around the slots you want to paint, even if it takes one day and several rolls of masking tape.
I used model paint (Tamiya to be exact), and high finish model brushes.
The advantage of these brushes is that you can work very precisely (less than 1mm scale) , so you don't put paint on connectors inside the slot.
But this is something that need pratice, and you have to know your paint (too much or not enough thinner and it can become quickly horrible).
Spray painting is the easiest way, and the result is as good, as long as you do light coats and take your time.
You can also paint inside the slots, and remove the excess paint on the connectors by inserting/removing an old GPU or PCIe card once it dried.
If you don't feel confident in painting the interior of the slots, you can always use covers like this http://www.moddiy.com/products/modDIY-PCI%2dE-{47}-PCI-{47}-AGP-Slot-Protective-Jack-Cover.html.
