Its a shame they don't take Litecoin or Coinye (rip) as those are much less intensive. I feel like I should've jumped on the bandwagon when it first came out but now I'm pretty relieved I didn't.

I tried mining Bitcoins back when it was semi-possible for the average joe. They would have been around $18 or so at the time, it was well before they went into the 1st mania and hit $200, or the more recent ~$1500 peak.
I canned it because I hadn't the SSD space to accommodate the entire Blockchain. I should have persisted, but even then I probably would have needed my 7950 to be mining for 1 month+ to expect a single block. ^_^
The ship has long sailed for mining Bitcoins, I'd say it's pretty much sailing for Litecoins at this stage too.
