Saitek X52 PRO

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with the Saitek X52 pro?

I'm looking to start playing Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous plus other flight sims but obviously wanted a half decent HOTAS.

I have wanted a HOTAS for a while now but don't have a lot of knowledge of what's hot and what's not.

My budget is about £130 and the x52 pro seems like it could be what I'm after.

Any info / ideas welcome.

Hey, i use a X52 pro for elite dangerous and once star citizen is done i might use it for that to, but as its a true fps game, a stick might be silly to use while not in the pilot seat.

For elite, i really enjoy using it, flown to the center of the universe with it and back. Saitek also released windows 10 drivers for it, it works just fine but remember to use the same usb port each time, less headaches with the software or it not initializing.

Hey man thanks for replying :)

I did do some reading up and people mentioned the drivers etc.
I'm actually running out of USB ports, Would it work using a USB hub?

Also there has been mentions of quality, in your honest opinion what do you think about the x52 pro as a whole?

This info could seal the deal lol

I think it is a pretty good piece of kit, its old though, the design is from like 10 years ago, that doesnt take away that it doesnt work, it does fine on my end and it feels solid enough for rapid movements.

As for usb, im using the usb passthrough on my K95 keyboard, and before that i used my monitor's usb hub on beta drivers and worked with just a little issue, but thats been fixed in the official drivers.

Yeah I know it's old now but from what I've seen nothing there's nothing else in the market in that price range which looks awesome lol if I had the extra pennies I would consider the x55 but again from what I've read they both very similar other than few more buttons dual throttle and the ability to change springs lol

Both my monitors have USB 3.0 pass throughs but I saw somewhere they don't play well with USB 3 which is why I asked about a hub, Is there only 1 USB for both throttle and stick?

Yes theres only one usb for both devices, you can use usb 3 ports on the back of your pc, as long as the hub itself is usb2 it shouldnt matter, the usb 3 port will behave as a 2.0 and the stick works.

Either that or im just lucky.

Awesome stuff thank you :)
I've never used pass through ports on my monitors before.... ive just moved house and set up the office again and used the pass through for the mouse and works fine freeing up USB ports on the back :)

Think I'm gonna buy one.
If it's not for me il return it lol

Thanks for your insight :)
