Ryzen RAM overclocking

Greetings all, this is a question I am asking on Tom's Hardware aswell so I'm seeing what sort of answers I could get here.

Here to ask on a subject many have posted about I feel like no-one has done a comprehensive guide for. This would be something I'm surprised no major YourTuber has covered.

Does RAM overclocking differ between 1700, 1700x 1800x? If so how much? If RAM overclocks better on an 1800x or 1700x then it would be incentive to buy them over a 1700.

Moving away from the optimized Flare X for those who want 32GB, which gives the least penalty, 4 DIMMS or dual-rank?

To test this I'd like to see 3 different RAM types used (2x8, 4x8 and 2x16). All RAM should be dual channel, 3200mhz ,have a cas latency of 14-14-14-34 and use Samsung b-die. They should all be tested on each Ryzen CPU on the ASUS Crosshair Hero VI motherboard with a gtx180 or better.

It depends on the silicon lottery. Good 1700 can hold higher memory clocks than bad 1800X.
