4 x 16GB, 8 x 8GB, or 2 x 4 x 8GB sticks for 64GB for Ryzen 1920X/1950X build

4 x 16GB (one kit of 4 sticks).
8 x 8GB (one kit of 8 sticks ).
2 x 4 x 8GB (2 identical kits of 4 sticks).

Are 4, or 8 sticks, easier on the IMC of a 1920X or 1950X Threadripper ?
4 vs 8 sticks. 4 x dual rank, or 8 x single rank.
(I'm aware that IMCs in Threadrippers are quad channel.)

I currently actively using a i7-6850K X99 box for web dev and web design, and coding, and a 2950X X399 box as a local testlab (runs Linux KVM hypervisor with 9 VMs : Arch Linux, Win10, OS X 10 Hackintosh, Android-x86, and headless : 2 x Debian web server, MySQL DB server, DB2 DB server, MongoDB server, and some other very low traffic servers).

I want to replace the X99 box, with a X399 + Threadripper 1950X (because they are so damn cheap now, and because of the cheap Threadripper motherboards).
But the memory QVL list of the Asrock motherboard is not very helpful.
I only got two interesting kits of it : G.Skill Trident Z F4-3200C16Q-32GTZB, and Kingston HyperX Predator RGB HX432C16PB3AK4/32. Which both are 32GB kits, which means 2 x 4 x 8GB.
And of course there is the 4 x 16GB G.Skill Trident Z F4-3200C16Q-64GTZ kit, which is currently in use in my testlab.

So far I have the following for my new box :
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X Boxed
ASRock X399 Phantom Gaming 6 / Gigabyte X399 AORUS PRO
NZXT Kraken X62
Akasa PWM fan splitter cable, 5 pwm fans on 1 mainboard (ak-cbfa03-45)
Plus the PSU, GPU, NVMe and SSD drives, etc from my X99 box.

As far as coolers go, I would recommend a bespoke TR4 cooler design that will cover the entire IHS. Yes, the Kraken X62 will cover the CPU dies under the IHS, but it is preferable to cover it all. I know CoolerMaster makes a TR4 AIO and Noctua has several good TR4 air coolers.

As far as memory goes, I'd reckon that the G.Skill memory you have would be a good option. In my experience with Ryzen (though I have not used Threadripper) G.Skill has proven to be a brand that's easy to get up an running. I have not worked with Threadripper directly, so sadly I cannot be of more help.
 
I would go 4x16gb. Tell you why.... Firstly it will use less power at the wall, secondly it leaves you room for upgrade and thirdly it puts less strain on the memory controller.

And I will also look nto the Coolermaster and Noctua AIOs. Although I already have a X62 cooling my testlab plenty.

Fair enough. The Kraken X62 will get the job done, I'd go for a bespoke TR4 cooler design if I was buying new though.
 
That's why I'm going to look at those you mentioned. ;)
I just have not had any problems with the X62 in my testlab.

I'm sure you will have no issues with the X62, not much point spending extra money if the gains aren't likely to be big anyways.
