right click takes forever

Hello, When I right click on files usually to scan or extract then it takes forever for the right click menu and then doesnt appear , then I di it again immediately and its instant, if I right click folders its always instant.

Any ideas or is it time for a reinstall of XP?

i think its a sign xp is becoming slow...

Virtual Memory trick didnt do it never mind Its been a while since I reloaded anyway, it always helps to flush out the system.

My dad had this problem, as far as I know he removed a lot of crap and programs he didn't need, and that fixed it right up

I format on a fairly regular basis just to keep this moving along properly... I'd say every 8-10 months I find a good night to sit down and have a format party, lol.

Sounds like you may need some more ram though, how much you runnin' now?

Running 3 256mb sticks right now, might look at getting a more quality array like corsair or something.

That might be your problem, you have 3 sticks, why don't you get 1 more?

My Corsair XMS Pro TwinX says your wrong. But my Mushkin XP says you're right .

I had pro sticks and they don't even compare to high quality brands like mushkin, g.skill, or crucial
