G'day everyone, I'm keen to learn a new song on guitar.. just not sure what one to learn.. I can play fairly well so difficulty isn't a problem.

So anyone know any well recognised guitar riffs?

Umm I'm into rock and metal. I like alot of the 80's/90's stuff too, like AC/DC, Cold Chisel etc.

Some easy tabs to play are:

Smells like teen spirit - Nirvana

come as you are - nirvana

about a girl - nirvana

Song 2 - blur

Lightning crashes - Live

How you remind me - Nickelback

Animals - nickelback

Sweet dreams - Marilyn Manson

Here comes the sun - Beatles

Stand by me - Beatles

toxicity - system of a down

chop suey - system of a down

If you really want to be challenged, try and play Fury of the Storm by DragonForce. 16th notes at 200bpm = :0wned:

Thats a great ass song for learning to play speedcore type ****... But Pantera, that takes some time to master.

RIP Darryl!

Edit: Mr. Abbott is my f*cking guitarist hero... that mofo can rock out like no other.

How do you play...do you read tablature, sight read, know musical theory or play by ear? If you want to learn some cool stuff, either Pantera's 'Vulgar' album or 'Far beyond driven' are awesome. These guys groove very well, but very heavily :worship: . Domination and Walk are two of my personal faves from those albums, but you'll need to tune down the Low 'E' string for walk. If you have a guitar with a fully floating tremelo (like a floyd rose) this may be difficult. You could also learn some cool licks from either blues or jazz guitarists, jazz is technically far more difficult than blues (have you ever studied modes of scales, if you have you'll know what I mean)but both rely on feeling the music. Some of the cats I listen to are Eric Johnson (White Cliffs of Dover), Robben Ford, Diesel, Hendrix, Garry Moore, Chet Atkins and many more. I can sight read and play by ear, if you're interested I have some tab books here if you want them I'll send them off to you. A couple I have off the top of my head are:

Ozzie Osbourne: No more tears

Pantera: Far beyond driven and The great Southern Trendkill

Metallica: Master of Puppets and Ride the lightning

Megadeath: Peace sells

Anthrax: Attack of the killer B's

i love that tune....was a pain to learn though, lots of quick finger movemnts.

also i dont know why but when i play the 16th fret on the D string and bend it, i get a warm fuzzy feeling inside :D

btw, best chord song ever = the verve - lucky man

simple way is to play G, D, Am

but its so much more complex than that....if u like the song ill show u the hard way :)
