Interesting that Andy Murray was said to be the first Brit in 77 years to win, Wimbledon.

Haha. Well I think it's because the Men's singles title has always been considered the 'main event' at Wimbledon, however wrong that is. Interesting to know though.

I don't know what the other news reports are in the UK, but here in the US all I had heard was, "The First Brit in 77 Years" and that includes reports on BBC America. Also, I don't follow all those sites mentioned, so I have no idea what was said on them. I'm on Facebook and only saw it mentioned there a couple days ago.

Right away I thought of Virginia Wade, I was 22 when she won and watched it. I recall Billie Jean King getting beat in 69, but not the name of the person that beat her or where she was from.

People need to quit whining when they don't know how it was reported worldwide.
