First of, the Razer Switchblade is still a concept idea, the videos I've seen of the prototype lags in Warcraft 3 and the touchscreen isn't all that responsive.

As to what happened to the Razer Mako and Barracuda? Razer is one of the most popular brands for gamers, but the fact is your average gamer won't pay $400 for a 2.1 Audio system, even if it looks cool and functions really well, they much rather spend money on a $100 headset and be done with it. Same thing with the Barracuda soundcard, fact is a lot of gamers don't want to pay for products such as these, and due to low demand Razer stops producing them. So I doubt Razer will venture back into those markets, since they realized from their previous ventures that gamers don't want those products.

Ahh yes totally agreed about the price it could have been way cheaper but tbh i tested both audio products out and they are extremely good! The Mako 2.1 system is probably the best 2.1 system ever... and the card is outstanding with the headset... and i understand the "concept design" but what company releases so much info without thinking twice of marketing it besides look at all the tablets and such coming out... there hasn't been one specific for gamers... and razer probably is going to be the first to do so... they can beast up the little guy with a atom dual core or a new amd fusion who knows!

Razer Switchblade, it needs to be powered by AMD Fusion, anything else just won't cut it.

Razer Mako, they were universally agreed on being some incredibly good speakers, and unfortunately good products costs a lot. In all seriousness that Mako 2.1 costs more than some 7.1 surround setups, and not sure about you, but I rather have a decent 7.1 surround instead of the best 2.1 speaker setup.

haha totally agreed i just wish they would have been more consumer wise but then look at the gtx 460's and 5000 series they were pretty descent price right from the beginning because they priced their other products wayyy too high and everyone got mad. So maybe razer can learn from that because as of right now they seem price-wise fine with their new products that are coming out. (I know gpu's have nothing to do with audio but it shows manufacturers can see it from a consumer stand point)

But sometimes production costs are just too high, and they can't reduce the price to something competitive. On a side note, Razer build quality and durability is a lot better these days, so they do listen to the feedback given to them.

Who knows i just really wanna see them branch out like that again and hopefully get something cool going

People say you cant sound whore in black ops . . . .o yes you can!

My only gripe with them was i had to stuff some cardboard inbetween the ear cusion and the headset because they where kinda stingy on the padding and it started to hurt my ear lobes.

Nope, like Zeals said i and most other gamers wont waste 199€ {thats the price of them in Ireland} on a sound card XD

I was using a cheap soundblaster but i switched over to the onboard chip because the mic sound was crackly with the soundblaster, not good when you use vent ALL the time.

Even with just the crappy onboar chip the sound is ace. I play alot of CoD:BO S&D sniper only servers and the quality of the headset compaired to my technics is much better. The one thing to note if anyone does buy the headset tho is they have no accoustic cancelation in them, so any and all sounds from your room/house is audible. IMHO they where well worth the 79€ price tag, even if i didnt pay for them myself

EDIT

I meant "technics" not "techtonics"
