Razer Firefly Mouse Mat Review

The Tron stuff was very poorly made but most of their stuff is solid.Ever held their Orbweaver keypad ? The thing is so well made and it weighs a ton for the size of it ^_^

They literally bought that off belkin and rebranded it, I have one of the first Belkin ones (which were WAAAAY cheaper), it's definitely not the usual build quality I've felt with Razer stuff, but then I have avoided them for so long I'm hardly a benchmark for them anymore

Well they did a lot more to the keypad than just put their name on it, I had the Belkin keypad and in comparison it honestly feels dirt cheap next to the Orbweaver, It just feels so well made and solid.

Belkin are the OEM for Razer's keypads IIRC so there is no difference apart from them excluding price (-edit- and palm rest). Even to the point where the belkin stuff works with synapse.

The original Belkin to me at the time felt good but the Orbweaver feels miles better even if Belkin do make it they definitely improved their original design.

I have an Orbweaver right now and literally everything that can be Corsair is Corsair, Quite the opposite of a Razer fanboy.

Yeah for now, it was all Razer some time ago, along with the logo and stuff. And I imagine next year it'l be another one, Roccat maybe? Who knows ;) You don't do anything by halves Dice.

Let's Just hope Corsair don't start making monitors hey Dice ;)

I've had the Orbweaver since the end of 2013 although I don't use it anymore as for me it's kind of pointless as I don't play WoW anymore and that's the only time I used it, Worked quite well though especially in PvP.

Already had some Roccat stuff and the keyboards LED's kept failing, It was the Roccat Ryos MK Pro and the macro key LED's kept dying as they suffered from zero amounts of ESD protection.

The mouse was actually really good it was the Kone XTD but it just felt a little odd to hold so I tried a few other things out like Steelseries, Logitech and Madcatz and eventually landed on the Corsair M95 in March 2014 and decided to get the K95 as well to match and I've stuck with Corsair since then as I really like their designs :)

Yep I had that but took it back after a week as it was way too heavy and started leaving indentations in the top of my skull and gave me really bad headaches XD

I had the Asus Orion pro which Mrs Tolemac borrowed then dropped them they were a very comfortable headset clumsy mrs :(

My step son paid a fortune for his Razer Tron gear. Problem is it's built like all other Razer products - crap.

The only Razer product I've ever had that has an air of quality about it is my Black Widow ultimate BF4 mech keyboard and that thing retailed for £149. Thank goodness I got a French one on Amazon UK for £34 inc.

Other than that though? Salmosa, Boomslang and now Naga all had buttons die.
I'm inclined to agree with you, but honestly I would be a hypocrite. I, like your step son, about 3 years ago bought the BF3 edition Blackwidow Ultimate, Imperator, and Scarab. They all still work fine, the Imperator had a few hiccups with double clicking, but I was able to fix it with online help and it has not resurfaced for a year I would say. I could not say the same for Razer controllers, they are straight up shit.

A few weeks ago I got a lightly used Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 (Because fuck Razer and their shitty Chinese "green" caps), Naga 2014, and a Destructor 2. I really didn't was to get more Razer stuff, but I looked at all the other major brands and none had anything that would fit my picky preferences and desires.

We'll see how these last haha.

My step son's mouse has the dreaded double click issue. You click it once and it usually always double clicks, like it or not. The right mouse button is also very unreliable. I was seriously swearing trying to set up his new PC !

And that mouse cost him nearly £100. That's absolutely ludicrous ! I used to have a HP mouse I paid $9.99 for and it lasted about ten years. Seriously I used it so much the bottom was ground down to nothing. The little things that hold in the gliding pads completely wore down and disappeared haha.

And that was a ten dollar mouse. I ended up painting it Noctua colours so in fairness it still worked.

Razer are like MacDonalds. You go in, spend a fortune but you're still hungry.

It's not all doom and gloom. So far this Blackwidow Ultimate BF4 has been a dream to type on, but not for £149. I got a French version with funny symbols on for £34 on Amazon. I switched the Q key back into its normal place and a couple of others and now I just touch type on it so the stupid odd froggy symbols don't bother me at all.

I've been looking for key caps, but they cost more than I paid for the sodding thing and would be wasted on me given I never look at it.

Yeah what I had to do to fix it was take the mouse apart and I can't remember but I sprayed something on the switch itself, probably WD-40. Just Google it, it seems to be a common issue in a lot of mice.

Good luck with your 2014, my understanding from some customer reviews is that the Razer "green" caps are cheaply made junk that don't last as long as real Cherry MX. But finding this 2013 was a pain off eBay lol. I got shipped the wrong keyboard twice because sellers do not know what the difference between 2013 and 2014 is lol. But it's all good now. :)
