rampage 4 extreme not entering bios

hey guys ive got my system up and running but i am trying to get stuck into a little overclocking. so i uses the asus ai suite to update the bios version to 1101 which is the most up to date version. that worked and booted nicely but when i hit restart it doesnt give me any options to enter the setup. i tell a lie when the first time i rebooted after the bios update it gave me the option so it told me to hit f1. i obliged and was greeted with a blank screen so i am left completely and utterly confused about what i am supposed to do no. i cant get in to oc my cpu or ram. anyone encountered this themselves or have any solutions that i can use if you need specs they are as follows

r4e

3930k

16gb dominator gt

corsair force 3 120gb

wd black 2tb

samsung bluray player

any help would be much appreciated

I posted this in your other thread as well btw.

You need to hold down the Del key when you power on until after it posts.

Does it boot into windows? If not, try hitting the little button in the bottom right hand corner to swap bios chips when the board is powered but not on.

Oh aye it boots to windows i have been installing gpu drivers, it does work perfectly well its just thegetting into the bios. I am dreading taking anything apart. It took me 4 hours tubin it up ffs. Im at work atm so i will just try ad little as possible when i get home lol

right guys my head has melted trying to get this bloody thing working. i pushed the memok go button, it was ok.

reseated ram which meant removing waterblocks and destroying all my thermal pads good thing i had some arrive in the post today.

checked power cables same story. reflashed bios

i took a picture of how far i get

so if i spam delete this appears sometimes and as soon as i hit the f1 nothing happens and i have to hit the reset button. but the thing that gets me is.

IT FLIPPING LOADS WINDOWS I PLAYED TF2 FOR 2 MINUTES SO THE THING IS RAAAAAAAAAGGGE. surely if there is an issue it shouldnt work full stop. instead of conditionaly working. im going to have to go out into the street to headbutt someone to vent my frustration

A few times bro im just back from the cinema tryin to clear my head before i have a wack at this. As soon as i got back

Removed ram and reseated

Removed power cables then re installed

Reflashed

Blavk screen

Unless of course the bios takes like 30 mins to open

Just checked the manual again and noticed that of the four little "Q" leds beside the 24 pin the vga and boot device led have remained on

1 hour has passed

Im so frikin peeved off right now. I think one of the issues may be from my motherboard waterblock and gpu clearance

On the 2gb 560ti twin frozr II i have there is a heat sink that covers the modules but the continues past the bottom of the board where it wraps around and anchors.

This piece is touching against the top of my ek mobo waterblock which i think isnt allowing the gpu to bed fully into the slot so that is what i think one of the reasons the little vga error light is coming on. The other light is for boot device. I have no clue what the issue could be here. I used the optical for an hour to install crap then took it off as it was loose and vibrating like a beast where it was sitting. Could my removal of that drive before my removal of its default boot priority one the irony me not being able to access bios to change the priority of boot devices because i have removed the drive

If that is the case Of course but i dont know

Another thing. I reset the board and hit the bios switch button to enable the second bios to see if that would fix thing but the bios indicator light didnt change

Im just deflated disencouraged and disappointed

Yup. Beside the 24pin has 4 diagnostic leds and when tryin to boot to bios the vga and boot device leds light up also when in use the vga light remains on even when sucessfully booting to windows playing games using afterburner. I all works. So like i said in my previous post the memory heatsun on the frozr 2 extends below the board which is touching the mobo wb which i have a theory is causing the last few pins to not 100% seat so i i cannot resolve the issue beore it comes time to strip and rebuild in the case i shall do a little gentle modifying to either the heatsink or wb. Prob the hs as i dont want to risk shattering the plexi top on the wb

if you want to enter the bios try from a full shut down. otherwise you have to be hitting delete way before the first splash screen shows up.

Yea im trying from a powered off at the wall state and mashing the del gets me occasionally that screen above but usually a blank one with debug 34 and the vga boot dev Q leds active. Ive checked the rog forums but no one seems to know. I contacted asus support and havent had any contact yet but it seems to be a common problem but without a definitive resolution. Lots of different things have seemed to solve it for people but none have solved for me lol

But everyone that has tried helping me out i appreciate it. Your much better than my self proclaimed conputer building genius who talks to me like a child when i try and talk technical

Try redoing the bios from usb key like its fucked a bios flash dude.... Or switch to the second bios. The first flash may have fucked it.

dude try plugging your keyboard into another usb slot or even a ps2 keyboard as it could be that the keyboard isnt fully powered by the time you need to hit del, i have had this before on a couple of boards.

I am preety sure when you flash the bios it flashed both of them anyway. But they do have the bios recovery built onto the CD.
