RAM Question :)

hey all,

As you may know, i was the winner of the OCZ ram in your latest competition.

Therefore, i have a few quries on using the RAM (when/if it arrives )

So, is it possible to use this with "the new ram" creating 4GB (not that i think theres much point in 4GB) or should i use just one of them? (one of the kits)?

I would sell the geil stuff and use the new kit, so you can clock it to the 8500 speeds. Otherwise you will be underclocking it at 6400 speeds

Does your mobo support 8500 speeds?

I dont think it does...

Its a Abit KN9 (NF4 Ultra)

Aye but you can easily overclock to get those speeds, so I would think you're fine

Minus that i have no idea on overclocking...

Best i ever did was with my 4000+ - got that to 3ghz (although i never got that stable at any oc'd speed...never understood how to oc "correctly"!) - any other attempts ended up, well, lets just say badly

If your mobo doesnt support it and you don't know how to overclock to achieve those speeds, sell the 8500 stuff and keep the 6400.
