Ram doesnt need cooling... my arse.

Ive just started using my corsair dominator ram cooler again, after a system re-config left my 4gb of crucial ballistix extremely unhappy.

Without the cooler, they wouldnt get stable even at 800mhz 5-5-5-15...

With the cooler, I can do 667mhz 3-3-3-8, 800mhz 4-3-3-8, 1111mhz 5-5-5-15..

Im simply amazed, maybe that new corsair TEC ram cooler isnt such a waste...

-edit-

This is all with 2.2v

TBH i think cooling has diminishing effects as you go throught the revisions...

DDR - DEFFO needed it (BH5...hawwwwt)

DDR2 - Some needs it

DDR3 - Doesnt really need it.

hmm, Yeah, I thought the cooler would make a difference, but this is huge. Im going to try 3-3-3-8 on 800mhz next. It would be interesting if it made any difference at all with ddr3, or the need for it has completely gone..

Ahhh BH5, those were the days! Not as nice as my TCCD though :D

Personally I think anything below DDR3 deffo needs some form of cooling, especially if you're overclocking it....

Agreed, I had to take a fan off my cpu cooler to fit in the ram cooler though, so now my cpu is roasting :S

Aye sometimes I wish i could crawl under a rock with some BH5, a DFI NF4 and a copy of CSS. Just hide from all the rapid change :p

i remember my old TCC5 :p

amazing ram :D

I tell ya one thing though..... Watercooling 4GB of Flex II is definitely unnecessary!!!!

*speaking from experience*

Still under water now and it will NOT run at stock with the CPU overclocked above 3.4GHz.

There is a known problem with your motherboard and Flex II, just go look on the product page.
