Ram causing programs to crash?

So about 4 months ago I bought this ram - http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=316

Unfortuanetly it wasn't compatible with my motherboard and caused bsod's, I bought some new ram and everything was fine but then a couple of days ago I thought that as I had updated the bios I should try the 4gb stick again, I had the pc running for about 36 hours straight without a single bsod but what did happen was that every 5 minutes or so programs like skype, chrome and utorrent would crash, I am obviously assuming this is because of the ram.

So anyone had this same problem and know of a fix or something?

it might be a faulty stick.
did u run any memtest?

Well I ran memtest and no problems were detected, could it still be compatibility issues?

Check the condition of your hard-drives. It may be a read issue that is causing the crashes.

You might need to defrag your drive if you haven't already done that.

Doubt it is that, There is never any problems when I use my other ram

Oh ok. How long did you run memtest? How many passes?

open task manager and monitor your RAM usage and pagefile. sounds like the pagefile
is too small or out of room for file. somone else had an issue with heavy ladened appz
and got memory error messages.

I think it was 6 passes of memtest without an error, I will do that deano thanks

aye, and especially on chrome, skype and RAM-pagesys access files and appz.

I usually run memtest for about 12 hours.

Ok so I have had the ram in for about 8 hours now with a 2gb stick of some other G.Skill ram and its fine

now slap another 2Gb dual channel in the 2nd slot and retest.
