RAM advice for 2700x build

Hi guys. I am jumping ship from Intel to AMD for my next build and going on the Guvnors recommendations and from what else I have seen, 3200mhz-3400Mhz RAM seems to be the best allrounder/sweetspot (I’m doing a 2700x build in an x470 board). The issue I have is the RAM I want, 16GB of G.Skill Trident Z at 3200Mhz, are out of stock and it’s the only item that is stopping me making my purchase (overclockers have the best finance options, so I’m buying everything through them). Now, there isn’t G skill 3400Mhz listed, but they do have 3600Mhz (for 30quid more which I can budget for no probs). Am I doing any harm if I go with 3600Mhz RAM instead?
My situation is this, I don’t want into blow the arse out of the world and go for benchmark records and ive never messed about with OCing RAM (and I don’t intend to), I just want to do the XMP profiler thing, and if I can achieve a stable 4.2-4.3Ghz OC, I’ll be happy (which I dont think it an unreasonable goal)

So, I suppose the short version is, am I doing anything stupid going with 3600Mhz RAM? I know the timings aren’t as tight the higher the frequency go and timings play more of a role than MHz with these new Ryzens, but the G Skill 3600Mhz kits still have tighter timings (16-16-16-36) than say the Corsairs Vengeance 3200Mhz kits (16-18-18-36)
Cheerz in advance

There's no major problem going for 3600, the issue lies with if you can get it to 3600, if the Z is out of stock why not get 3200 flarex as it's AMD compatible?

Faster ram with same or tighter timings = WIN

But do investigate if there's still a problem with stability on the new x470, if yes, do as Excalabur says, and get ram that are branded as compatible.

Thanx you guys. i have seen stuff with 3600mhz RAM in the ROG Crosshair VII hero, but on asus site it doesn't list 3600Mhz on its features. I think i might just air in the side of caution and get some Corsair 3200Mhz, and we can agree their RAM is solid and i can contol the RGB with Corsair link :-)

There have been a few that can hit 4K on their memory on the 2700 series, but not many. Overall the Gskill kit has had the most luck on AMD setups. If it were me, I would buy the faster ram, because in 2 months you might get a new bios that will run that speeds not problem. Worst case, you slow it down to the 34 range and enjoy.

All of this!

I would do this to.

Do not make the mistake I made and check that your RAM is Samsung B.
Whilst my ram is working well it will not play with tighter timings or faster then 3000 but that's the limitations of Hynix chips :( I am so gutted I spent £200 when for a few more I could have had samsung b
