Radiator Choice help

Hello guys, i plan to watercool my rig in the signature , now i have 1 dillema tbh, since i'm feirly new to watercooling , i allready have D-tek Fuzion v2 waterblock for my i7 920, i allso have Alphacool Dominator x6 block for my DominatorGT's ( just for estetics tbh ), and gonna order today FC 5970 block from EK for my Gpu(s). i allso have dp-500 400l/h pump with a reservoir of 250ML.

Now my main question is what rad should i chose ? ( My main goals are to have decent temps for my GPU and CPU without TOO much noise like 2k rpm fans, but i dont mind 1400-1600 RPM fans that are normaly " Loud ". )

i will be buying the rad from Specialtech

My budget is around 60GBP with shiping that is to my country so i am looking at around 40-50gbp rad.

So i cant make up my mind should i buy 480rad with 30mill thicknes and 11 fpi or should i go for something like GTX 360 with 20fpi and 50mill thickness will the diference be noticable from 480thin to 360 thick rad ? . I am allso woried if my pump is enough for 480 rad as well, but take in mind that my PC is inside the Desk so i wont have to run Long tubes since all parts are in the same hight. atm i run my pump on 240mm Rad with only CPU block and it's doing great job with minimum Noise.

My rig Specs are :

MB : Gigabyte X58a OC
CPU : I7 920 DO @ 4ghz 20x200 with 1,29 volts
Ram : Corsair Dominator GT 6gb ( 3x2gb ) C7
GPU : Msi 5970 2gb runing @ 850/1200 1.087v
SSD : Samsung 840 120gb
HDD : x2 Hitachi 80gb sata 2 in raid 0
PSU : Coolermaster SilentPro M2 720w

I would recommend atleast a 60mm thick 360 rad. If your aiming for silence void the high fpi,low profile rads because if you want to get maximum performance out of them you need to run your fans at very high speeds.

As for the 480 30mm rad let's look at it this way: cut it in half and put one half onto the other, this basically gives you a 60mm thick 240 rad. So a 60mm 360 has more cooling surface.

Isnt there a way for you to squeeze out another 10 pounds so you can get yourself a 360 UT60?

Also what case do you have ?

i was am seeing this rad as my best option for my money :

Hardware Labs Black Ice® GT Xtreme Lite 360mm Triple Radiator : GTX360-LITE

the dimension's are 397 x 120 x 54mm but the 20FPI is the thing that worry's my coz i allready have 8 1600 rpm fans from CM that are medium lound + a fan controller.

this rad + shiping costs 59gbp , the 60mill thick rad that are around 50-55gbp as i can see only shpi with expensive delivery i think it's coz they go over 2,5kg's so it's costing me around 50gbp only shiping for the heavyer rads

i was allso seeing :

Swiftech MCR420XP Extreme Performance 480mm Quad Radiator : MCR420XP

which is 480mm rad with 35mill thickness but again 20 fpi :) . so my main question is what is better in terms of performance ?

a 360 54mm thick HW GTX or 480 35mm Thick MCR ?

Isnt there a shop closer to your location than Specialtech ?

You could try ordering directly from EK since they are located in Slovenia which is closer to Macedonia, maybe that will reduce shipping costs.

hmm i havent noticed that , i''ll hop on there site and see how thing are there atm , btw for most rads shiping costs are around 15gbp from special tech , i'll hop on EK atm and see the choice there and update if there are some more interesting rads for that price :)

The XT 360 (50mm thick) is 63 euros.

Its also a low fpi rad which ill deffo pick instead of the HWLabs GTX 360.

Order directly from EK:

EK XT 360: 63.95 + cheapest shipping option to Macedonia (13.76) = 77.71 euros/66.5011£

i went on EK, it's the same 14-15gbp shiping and the EK XT 360 45mm thick rad will cost me 53+14 = 67 GBP which is too much considering the HW GTX 360 54mm thick rad costs me 55gbp with shiping from specialtec

BTW my case is custom made Desk for the PC in which i have planty space coz my PSU and HDD's are down in the lower shelf

hmm it's strange from Specialtech every single 360 radd with 60mill thickness costs around 45gbp for shping , i guess they cant ship it regulary thru royal mail coz of the size of the package limtation

Take the cheaper option then. But tbh i would rather have my rig running a couple C° warmer and silent then cooler but noisy.

When you watercool a rig your aiming at performance and SILENCE !

If the GTX 360 is your final choice you can try runnig push/pull to maybe take down the noise level a bit.

y, you got me thinking there i see i can trow 10gbp more to get alphacool 360 UT60 it's around 54-5gbp priced so if i can somehow get it shiped for 15gbp as all other rads's i'll probably get that one , since those 20fpi are poking my eye lol :)

thx for the advice m8
