Quiet Watercooler case

Originally I phoned and asked the guys at specialtech how loud the titan 150 was. They told it that it was loud enough and I didn't believe them. So during a support ticket for another product they said that changing the fan might help and to let them know if I found any other way to silence it well...

I started with the case going along this line

bascially a wooden cube frame and a butchered silverstone fascia with an alphacool lcd.

Then continued to add clear acrylic windows.

Front as well and started the lower case which would contain the titan 150 with silenx fans instead of the monster it came with and lots of sound dampening material.

I cut a hole for the titan display/controls and lined the lower part of the case with packing foam. Originally I thought the display hole would be tight enough to hold the display on its own, this didnt pan out and I tacked a few points with superglue.

You can see the power switch and socket in the side of the case.

A bit of wood filler and sanding to make sure that the front and sides had absolutely no gaps.

Then I added the titan, obviously this is before I put the fan on.

I did have some other pictures but I am an idiot and have miss placed a hard drive. So the only other pics I have are the finished ones.

I am not a perfectionist and there are loads of things you could pick over with this case, like the bit of tape left on the front window, the mediocre painting, the fact I have a radiator in there which was intended for the graphics card and I could not afford a waterblock for it. And my messy cables..

If anyone followed this from the tubing question you can see I haven't quite got round to it yet and I have a round ide gatherer propping the tubing up.

Impressive stuff imo Dave. I love the detailed woodworking, very nice.

Deffo deserves all those little finishing touches as it looks like a lot of hard works gone into it :)

Thanks. I might tidy it up when I can afford the gpu block and a mcubed montior for more details on the lcd.
